one of the guys dad works with bought a 2.6L 2nd gen (think its a TR) quite cheap ($2800) only prob is... the computers shit itself.

question is... will any 2.6L computer (like a 1st gen 1) fit in and work properly???

PS. aftermarket tunable computers are not an option, its a around town car for an eldarly guy who's not interested in cars at all. so no Haltek comments from u booya :p

You would need a computer out of a 2nd gen with the same gearbox (ya dont wanna put a manual ecu in an auto etc) The 1st gen one probably woundnt work.

Yeah Im not sure about the 1st gen one..but you'll need to get one from an auto if it was auto that's for sure.

It'll be easier finding a 2.6 auto ecu than any other kind though, they were the most common.

its a manual, thats why i thought a 1st gten might work, cuz the local wreckers dont have many 2nd gens.

next question... any1 got a 2.6l 2nd gen computer they want to get rid of cheap???

if its an manual get any computer .. theres a seperate computer for the auto trans ..

get a tr / ts series, you might find the wiring is different. speak to wreckers, they'll know best.
