I have had my car for a while now, and ever since i bought it on start up as u move the car (ie drive and accelarate for 5-10m) it would make the sound of a belt rubbing on something sort of, and be fine for the rest of the trip till u start her up again. also on full lock it seems to make a weriod noise during this period, but the goes away (its not the CV joints!!)
the other issue is it shakes on idle! like it sits fine on 700-800rpm stable, but the car feels like it is skaking a bit  (THIS IS THE MAIN ISSUE! IT THOSE MY HEAD IN)
u can rev its guts out and it is fine, only on idle is feels wrong
i ran injector cleaner through it and it still does.
Other thing is it is really trusty on idle, i dunno but sometimes the trip comp says goes up 0.1 of a Litre just sitting there on the lights.
Any ideas before another machnic rips me off?

I am aint no expert, but i have a bunch of friends who drive magnas... got a friend driving a TH that has similar problem... its the sqeeking of the steering belt when he turns full lock and when he starts moving off... his reason was that gasket leaking and leaks on the belt...

yer mate it sounds right i thought it was the power stearing belt/ pulley.
But that can't really effect the idle issue can it?

yeah, that should be it.
you need the mitsu scan tool hooked up to do it.
have you changed battery lately? installed barry's kit?

My car does the same thing.
Try fuel cleaner
fuel filter
check plugs
check coils
or just raise idle..

The sound could be a pulley that was on the TE's that was removed on later models cos it was useless and used to make noise for no reason.
I had the same pulley on my KE and removed it and the issue went away.
Do a search for "useless pulley" and youll find it.
