I know this has been answered before, but for the life of me I can't think of a good search term to find it. I installed my new HU today but now my air con is weird. When I turn it on, it will only blow from the feet or the windscreen. Is it just some sort of alignment or whatever issue? As I said I am sure I've seen this problem before and it just had to be put in properly.

they may have disconnected one of the cables from the aircon unit. make sure all the cables are retach. its a metal piece of string or the sort.

That's what I thought it was. In the piece that has the actual vents in it, there is a long metal rod on the right hand side that gets clipped into something. Is that what the issue is?

I just had a look today and I am not sure what the problem is. That metal rod I thought it was doesn't seem to really do anything (Well except open and close the vents). I turned all the nobs and it did nothing so maybe it is something to do with the plugs on the aircon unit itself. Can anyone else help?

Wouldn't it not work at all if it was a fuse?

with the thing that turnes the direction of the air, there little cog things that control where things go. a mate of mine in his TJ, when he relapced the black thing behind there with his coustom dile he made up. the cogs came out of alliment. have a look in the workshop manual

I had a problem like that, all was connected but didnt do anything, the sheath that the cable runs in has a retaining clip that stops the sheath from sliding with the wire. I re attached the sheath clip and hey presto.
Not saying it will work for you, but just slide it and see.
