Hey everybody, just wondering how significant the differences are between the standard 4 speed transmission and the sports sequential one. I have been considering the possibility of giving my Verada the sequential tiptronic gearbox and whether it would actually be possible, economical, easy or for that matter even actually beneficial (or not).
Any advice people may be able to offer on what the differences are and whether (or not) it would be worth doing and how one would actually go about it would be greatly appreciated.
It's entirely possible it'll be outside of what I can afford, but it'd still be useful to know.
Thanks. :)

Exact same gearbox.
The ECU/Shifter are different thats all.
Nobody has successfully got the shifter to work 100% by transplanting it.
I suggest you try another mod first.

My experience:
When i was looking for my 3rd gen upgrade i decided it had to have tiptronic. Now that i've got it, sure its cool and the wank factor is there, but to be honest it's not really that different to using the shifter.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I shall seek out other modifications. :)
What would the #1 recommendation be for improving a KF Verada in any way which can be done on a relatively small budget. I do have a professional mitsi mechanic with whom I am very good friends and who helps me out with whatever I do mechanically so even reasonably technical things that can be done on the cheap would be awesome.
Car is already lowered a little, already has a full after market extractors + exhaust system.
Cheap superficial mods would be cool too, but I quite like the way it looks already so they're not a huge priority.
Thanks again.
