Right well im finally going to do something about my suspension or lack off.
What i want to know is how much have people cut their bumps or if anyone had removed them how does it go bottoming out? How much travel do ya have? is anyone sitting on chassis?

Also im tossing up between coilovers or just getting shortened shocks. has anyone heard of G4 coilovers? what your opinion? what have others done

basically Im sitting on bumps and want to get "some" travel going so give me some idea's!
(and no im not going to get it higher)

Cheers, hedgie

i have cut mine a few times (the bumps not the springs)

and at the front it sits hard on whats left of the bumps if i removed the bumps it'd sit lower!

my front bumps are approx 20mm high but are compressed by the weight of the car to about 10mm.... im looking into custom made short shocks, i'd love coil overs but would proably destroy them from low height

yeah thats what i was thinking about the coilovers. would they cark it real quick coz i want it heaps low.? iwant sitting chassis for the natts and stuff for sure! What about the rear? are you sitting on bumps aswell? id have to get the shortneed shocks custom made aswell. damn magna's

i cut about 20mm off my bumps (still about 50mm left). i have king superlows. the drivers side sits about 4mm off the bumps, the passenger side sits on the bump stop. if i know that it wasn't going to sag any more on the passenger side i would cut them down more. but it really does suck not having suspension. i measured my ride height and the drivers side is about right height for 60mm lowering (measured from hub centre to wheel arch), and the passenger side is about 5mm lower.

i am just going to get some new front struts and some king lows, and cut the bumps down a bit further so i have plenty of travel. the roads around here are bad enough as it is without zero suspension travel.

yeah my missus cant drive with me anymore, i dont think ill be able to drive with me anymore soon.

i saw a lexus the other day sitting on front and rear bumps with car load of people. it was hillarious seeing it go over bumpy parts in the road, swear they were hitting head on the roof.

so no one has heard of g4? well does anyone no if there is any coilovers that are made with shortented shocks or at least rebuildable?

rear chopped heaps too lol

i have heard of G4 coilovers before... i reckon though some could be made up easy enough though just got to look in to it when i have the cash.... bags would be cool but get defected and either spend $2500 engineering them or putting the old gear back in :doubt:

or 2k all up get some coil overs, stay slammed, get defected... 2hrs later defect cleared and on your way back home to slamm it again...

i like the slammed ride height but on the interstate its a pain, but with coil overs you could raise it and run 16's for them interstate trips and have the comfort whilst being able to slamm it in the city, problem is like you have said destroying the coilovers.... my munroe shocks are just fine though, cant really hurt them if they dont move now can you?!!

maybe the reason why the coilovers failed is cos they were bottoming out harshly, maybe i wouldnt have that problem cos if on the lowest setting they'd be sitting on the bumps.... like i said hasnt killed my crappy munroe shocks might just work!!!

just a note too, keep some bumpstop in there even if it's only a few mm thin, cos it stops the metal on metal crash clanging sound, and trust me that kills you every time you hit a bump!

i know that metal on metal sound, a mate of mine have Camira springs in the back when he got the car and every time you would droup the clutch... bang..... or hit a hole...bang...

now hes got Camira wagon springs stuts ridiculsy low but rides all right :D

yeah im thinki coilovers so i can jack it up for road trips and maybe every month or so just tos ave me spine and slam it for cruises etc. Was looking at baggin but unless i get a new engine im not gonna bagg this wags gonna wait till i upgrade. im still running stock shocks haha. but like you said mine arent moving at all so they cant be too rooted yet. ill go get all me qoutes and ill post up prices FYI. i knows cause i got a wagon im gonna need custom made coilovers too but apparently G4 does em no worries and still descent priced.
oh and andrew, is that your car or not!? (in ya avatar) got me bedazzledlol
