hey all

went out and about yesturday looking for nice bits to put on my kl awd and ended up in an exhaust shop.

enquired about extractors and and a full free-flow system, and the shop didnt have a part number for some to suit the all wheel drive.

put it up on the hoist later that day at the shop (first time i got a look underneith it as well - pretty tight fit everywhere really!)
and this shop seems to think that the best they will be able to do is a 2 1/2inch system from the 'jioner' (where the front and rear manifolds meet) back - and they are trying to tell me its gunna cost me $900 for that drive in drive out.

personally im thinking thats a bit expensive considering that they wont be doing 'much' to the car as such.

im not getting anything fitted just yet - more looking around for prices and whatever first.

i understand that its a very tight fit, but there are members here that have had it done, wanna share some tips please?

any other thoughts / oppinions on the matter appreciated :)
cheers

well tell them i have an awd HM stainless extractors

3"Metal high flow cat
2 3'' hotdogs
3'' pipe till the diff then splits in to 2 2.5'' exhaust system with a chambered/baffeled muffler on each side 11x4 of something (size of muffler)

fits easy as and is actualy higher up and has more ground clearance than stock!

that whole system
stainless extractors
3'' highflow metal cat
3'' and dual 2.5'' all mandrel bent
2 3'' hotdogs
and 2 mufflers cost me 1650 all up supplied and fitted!

Other option is RPW race extractors which are actually made at Liverpool Exhaust. I had them on my KL AWD with a metal cat and one resonator and a Lukey LR2779 and it made up a pretty good system, 2.5" all the way.

ive currently got the hm headers on stock exhaust so its not exactly noisey or anythin atm only drama i have is rear muffler rubs on my towbar, what im after is a note similar to what blkmag posted on his 3.5L http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19303&highlight=tim-e+heard+highway sounds real tough thats what im aiming for !!!!
