here's one to get your heads around.

On my way home from the shops and my clutch pedal sank all the way to the floor, but still engauged in gear with no warning what so ever. Got her home driving clutchless which wasnt an issue as i only got 1 red light so turned the engine off and started the engine while in 1st gear.

now here is the random bit. when i pull the pedal off the floor, give it some really quick pumps it will open the clutch and i can select a gear and pull away. What i have noticed is if i slowly press the pedal in, it will sink to the floor once again and i cannot open the clutch. i do the above once again and i can select a gear once and drive normally.

The selector fork looks normal and works normal once i pump up the pedal. I have noticed its all hydralic operated so not sure what to do in regards to that, sort of seems like an air lock if at all possible.

any help would be great

cheers guys

seals in the master cylinder or slave cylinder, leak in the system, air in the system. Theres where to start lookin. Top up the fluid and bleed her up jase. If that doesnt fix it, change the seals in your master cyl. Dont for get that brake/clutch fluid absobs water. Sitting for the period of time that it was, there may have been a small amount of rust forming in your system.

its wierd. The level was fine when i checked after the problem occured. I kept it topped up as we bled the system and no air came out of the bleed nipple. If anything was leaking at the slave or master it would/should be pissing out fluid but its not. Another wierd one is when i punch the pedal to the floor as quick as possible it gets pressure and retains the pressure as long as my foot is on the pedal, when i push the pedal slow it just sinks to the floor without opening the presure plate.

meh

i would be checking the top of the pedal inside the car. it to me sounds like te seal. fast push good pressure, slowly as a better chance to loose pressure. pull the carpet back and have yourself a real good look up there. if its the seal it will be leaking into the car..:(

nope, no leaks at all. It hasnt leaked at all as the reservoir hasnt dipped below full at all.

it could be the bucket in 1 of the cylinders that has gone.

Sounds like master cylinder tome. Leaking past the primary cup.
