Does anyone know why my Gen 2 wagon vibrates or shimmers when cornering. As soon as steering is straight again, its gone. Feels like tyres are going over ripples.

How fast are you taking these corners?

Check tyre pressure/condition... a more accurate description of the vibration would be preferable too.

Shimmering usually refers to light reflection too by the way ;)

check all the tyre pressures
you need all tyres to be the same tread
rear shocks /front shocks
all suspension bushes on the rear support struts need replacing

As you go into a corner the power steering pump kicks in which causes the revs to drop, maybe that could have something to do with it. This could be the case if the vibration feels like it's coming from the engine, aka the revs are too low.

Just a wild guess, really depends what you mean by "vibrates" (either tyre level or mechanical level), but I thought i'd throw it out there anyway.
