right its time to pump up the ralliart, now from what i know the system in there is pretty decent itself, for those who arn't sure its got:

set of eclipse tweters, and mids
set of eclipse 2 way 6inch in doors
set of eclipse 3 way 6x9's in the back
6 stacker and an upgraded head unit to the eclipse CD7000

i have added an "acoustic" mono block amp 400rms with my JL 13.5" sub. (which i will sell upon upgrading the system)

Here is what i would like to do, i wanna keep the system eclipse as i believe it is a good brand if people would like to tell me why please do because i am just going with i like it so i think its good lol. i think i may keep the original speakers in and Amp them and get another Amp for some new subs.

Option 1
Get 2 Eclipse amps
Get a 15inc Sub (preferably eclipse but i dont think they make 15inc) and invert it into a custom layout.

Option 2
Get 2 Eclipse amps
Get 2 Eclipse 12inch subs and invert them in a custom layout

Option 3
Get 2 Eclipse amps
Possible speaker upgrade depending on what you guys think is worth while upgrading cuz i aint sure - lets try keep it eclipse though
and either tthe one 15inch or 2 12's

Now as you can see this is not very detailed i will endeavor to make it more detailed once i get some input from you guys. :D

here is the eclipse website with some of the products available. http://www.eclipse-web.com.au/Site/Guest/General.aspx?Page=EiSERV

I'm curious..what brand are the original speakers?

i would go a set of eclipse 6 1/2" splits for the front (either the SC8264 or SC8365)
running of a 2ch eclipse amp (either the EA2000 or XA2000)
the subs well depends on what type of music your into
but 1 12" (either SW7200 or SW8200) with a monoblock will be fine (DA7122)
and just leave the stock rears in running off the h/u

all this depends on your budget too

I'm curious..what brand are the original speakers?

the whole system in ralliarts should be eclipse

What is your total budget dude? There may / may not be better gear out there but if you give us a buget we can make suggestions. :D

Perhaps only 4 brands I would use for a same brand Speaker / amp / sub combo are:
Boston Acoustics
Hertz
Focal
DLS

yer i hear Focal is good. well im looking on at a budget of around 2000 maybe a little more, unfortunately my friends at JB may not be able to help me on getting hold of eclipse equipment as i think JB don't stock them.

Most likely i will be listening to RnB and House, so i hear a 12inch is the best for that. also i am not fussed with the one sub because i dont want mega bass i want a good sound, not that you can't get that from twin subs.

By the way i dont mind getting the parts slowly i dont have to buy everything at once and am not in a rush or anything anyway. just wanna get the right idea down then start getting the stuff one by one.

Yer lets keep it "Eclipse" with the brand i'm happy with that.

EDIT: had a look at those products you posted up Mr_Roberto the SC8365 looks good however i believe that i am already running a SP6500 in the door which is a 6icn 2 way speaker, the one you suggested is just a normal one will this make a big difference.

Hertz is good... I also like Polk, but hey, just call me a bitch to american consumer marketing. My system cost me 2K (well just under). Also i wanna upgrade my splits, like mine are great Value for money, but i want something better.

First thing, i beg you not to limit yourself just on one Brand. Eclipse is a decent brand, not doubt about it, but, there are better, and also worse. The best, best thing for you to do would be to listen to some speakers and pick the ones best to your ears (weather or not they be eclipse, who really cares). Its your ears that enjoy the sound, not your sight, true ?

There are alot of brands I would suggest, but you probably allready know them. Audison, DLS, Hertz, Focal, Boston, Treo, Seas Lotus, Oz Audio, Morel etc etc etc.

If always believe that if im doing something, I would like to get as much information as possible before lashing out and spending. Wouldnt you hate it if you really enjoy your eclipse speakers, but get into someone elses car and say, oh my, yours sounds better than mine. Whats worse is what if they actually spent less than you :P. Starting to get my drift here?

Moving on to subs now, the biggest load of crap most people spin is that one size sub is better for one type of music, and another size is better for something else. This is rarely the case, except for really cheap subs (they tend to use the same motor for different size cones, kinda the same as towing a 2t trailer with a 4cylinder comparred to the same car towing a 500kg trailer).

One more expensive sub is always better than two cheaper subs. Proof of this is in SQ comps, where nearly everyone runs a single sub. Further to this, the world record holder of SPL uses one sub, so ye. One is > than two.

Subs I suggest are similar to the above brands. DLS, Focal, Boston, Infinity, Morel, Oz audio Jl audio, etc.

The best bet would be to lay down a strict budget, and excatly what you are wanting to upgrade/change. Then we can sit down and draw you up some options, prices and suggestions.

hmmmm that actually makes a bit more sense to me now, i might check up on some brands and then get back to you guys of exact model numbers prices ect and see what you guys think.

so you think one 15inch sub would be better than two 12inch subs.

i would suggest looking at Morel Elate splits, gonna be my first choice :) though need some power to drive them.

also it depends on brand/price of the 15" and the 12"... depending on how much money left in the budget on the sub, have a look at a single Treo sub or similar, good bang for buck (both SPL and SQ)

just some suggestions..

also have a look at the MEA forums, see whats in the for sale section

oh and if you're looking for quality stuff, talk to the guys at Alberts :)

Yeah look at the above mentioned brands. 2x 12's can be just as good ( if not better )as a single 15. It will all come down to person choice. I personally dont need anything bigger than a single 12inch.

Why people will say that a 10 will be punchy and fast has to do with damping factor ( the amps ability to cone the woofers cone ). Obviously the bigger the cone, the more control it will need to have to be punchy. ( You can not stick DD's in just any old bra and ask her to run without them going everywhere :D:D ) The cabinet the woofer is in will also determine the Q, Res Hz and -3db which will all affect how it sounds.

I have ordered the Oz Audio Me 12.2. Am egerly awaiting how it will go :D Morel Elates are good but will be out of his budget I think...

ok, with the 15 vs 2x12s issue, I have a few ideas.

First is what kind of music do you listen to mostly ? Dance, Rap etc etc This "may" help pick you subs.

Also, i say again. A 10inch isnt always "faster" than a 15. But, in cheaper, budget cases, it infact is simply because they use the same motor.

If it were for me, I would probably go one corectly set up 15, in a large enough box. 15s do need big boxes, if you cut is short in the box department, then, the sub will sound slower, and poorer than a 10.

The box size determines the speed, and transient response of the sub, and somewhat effects how low a driver plays. How low a driver plays is also effected by the driver itself, and tone and detail tends to be solely driver dependent.

Dont fall into the trap thinking that a sub only plays the low notes, and hence isnt as important as fronts. A sub plays 2 octaves of music. We can only hear 10 octaves, so subs product 20% :D

could just spend the extra on a single 12", say a more expensive line like Treo or DD etc :) would pump alot harder (given in a good price bracket these are like 1KW or higher subs)
