If its the fuel sender, then same thing happened to me. Was able to replace it under my second hand car warranty plan. I know you bought your car recently, I hope your covered. Cheers.

just with that guide thats for a normal povo magna, the ralliart has a baffled tank it may differ
also the AWD's are different too, the main sender for an awd costs approx $200 from mitsu! AWD's have 2 senders the main one and another in tank (not the main one attached to fuel pump)
just for future reference for other ppl

mine does the same thing - but it is a pretty common problem it seems with these cars.
iv allready had the tank sender replaced once, and my guage still plays up (not reading correct still) = mitsu think that it might be the actual guage in my case.
my 2c!

Same, my gauge is really weird sometimes. My trip computer always displays the right fuel level though (within 1-2L).

Same. I've been using that since the sender packed it in nearly a year ago and I've been too slack to fit the replacement:D I've actually been amazed at the accuracy of the trip computer. It'll say I've used 60L and when i fill up it'll be about 60-61L on the bowser.

Me too, it gets my fuel consumption calculation very close as well, very pleased with it.
