Hey guys,
Getting 2 Pioneer 306c 12' subs dirt cheap of a mate - single 4ohm voice coils, 400wrms
Just wondering if the Clarion DPX1000.2 - 1000wrms @ 2ohms bridged would be suitable for running these.
Oh and the amp is second hand for $300
If not, any other suggestions for an amp to run both the subs?
hopefully spending <$300?

Yeah it will be fine. Just make sure you use ample size wires, make sure the ground is good and mount the amp in a suitable location with plenty of ventilation.

get the clarion. killer good amps those 1000.2's. 1000 @ 2ohm bridged, and the compatability to run any 1 or 2ohm configuration with optimum performance. i ran one for ages until i sold it so that i could get matching amps.

You think $250-300 is a good price?

I once used a Clarion DPX11500. Decent amp for the price, but, can do better (with a little more money). Ill sum up my findings at the time in a few lines.

Clarion = 800rms
Audison srx2s = 600rms
Sub = Kicker L7 (at the time).

Sub played smoother, and louder off the Audison than the Kicker. Gains set same way.

Morel of story ? Power isnt the only spec to look at :)

Yeah big difference between the Jaycar 2x150wrms and the SRx2s. Not in volume but in sound quality!
