Would 16x8+50 rims fit? The wheels are FD RX-7 rims.
Got the good ol' stock 15x6+46's at the mo.
Would be going from 205/65R15 to 225/50R16 as well. There is a 2.5% difference here which will be fine.

you may find that it may rub on full lock with 225/50 r16 8 inch rim i think cause you have 1 inch extra either side and also a 4mm closer to inside cause of the 46 - 50 change, so you may find it sits in the guard a bit more , i have + 40 18's 7.5 inch, and i have a good 4 cm at full lock. and isnt 225 like really small for an 8 inch rim?? just a thought but 235 woulda been what i would run.

they will fit on the front easy, but on the rear its going to be very very very close to the upright L shaped arm very close

i had 225 tyres on a 8" rim (16" diamater). that is the size that the tyre place automatically recommended. i don't think 235 16" tyres are that common. if it was a 17" wheel then they would have 235's on it.

I thought a 225 tyre on an 8 inch wide rim was illegal, you're stretching it too far and can be unsafe.

nope it's actualy a good rims size for a 225 8.5" starts to strech it a bit too far
i had 225's on both a 7.5" and 8.5" rim and on the 8.5" it handled mych better, the tyre didnt roll under hard cornering, biggest handling improvment ever

yeah. i had 235's on a 9" rim. they were stretched a bit (not that much), but it handled great. you get much more turn in response as the tyre doesn't roll on the rim as the weight transfers.
Would 16x8+50 rims fit?
Stock 15 x 6 +46 rim backspace is 134 mm while 16 x 8 +50 rim backspace is 164 mm.
I doubt there will be enough room to accommodate massive 30 mm difference.
Optimum rim width for 225/50/16 tyre is 7.0 inches, maximum width is 8.0 inches.

i had 17x8 rims on my last magna. i had no issues with rubbing. not sure on the offset though, pretty sure it was in the 40's though.

225's are fine on a 8" rim. It means you get less sidewall flex.
I'm sure there is a good reason it is oem'd on a R32-GTR and FD RX-7.
I think I'm going to pass on these FD rims.
