View Full Version : It's time to go.... TS Magna!

After consideration I have decided to let go of my 95 TS Exec, simply because I have a TJ and the TS is going to cost too much time and money for me to get sorted out.

What sort of price would I be looking at if I were to sell it privately? I was thinking $500 because apart from the suspension and engine being stuffed, everything else is in good working order so I'm guessing a wrecker might be interested for the rest of the spares?

Let me know what price is reasonable, I'll put pics up later today

$500 seems preaty fair, it it was manual you could part it out for parts

Haha that's an idea! Mine has a 3rd of a tank so I should probably get it out before it goes.

What's wrong with the engine?

Needs to be replaced. It blows so much blue smoke it's hard to see anything around the car. I guess anyone with the time, patience and skills to pull it out and rebuild it could probably fix it, but I can't be stuffed and would rather just sell the whole thing.

You won't get $500 for it at a wrecker perhaps $200 if you are lucky.Stick it on eBay and see what you get for it.I would buy as I have a spare V6 but the misuses won't allow it, to many cars.:D

Yeah I figured a wreckers wouldn't take too much for it. Anyone know anywhere in places in Brisbane where I could try and offload it where they would pick it up?

scrap metal places... at home i have something bookmarked for my 1/2 cut... would get about 150$ for it... just make a few calls...

Yeah I'll put it up on ebay later tonight, if anyone is interested in it, I'll get rid of it for $300 from Mt Gravatt in QLD. I'll get photos up early tonight if I get home from work by dark, otherwise first thing tomorrow.

I know a guy who picks up old cars for scrap and they are complete and he only gets about $150 - $200 per car so you wouldn't get $150 for a half cut.

Oh, I see:D, bennoc should just put it on ebay , if it doesn't sell than let some scrap guy take it away.

If I had the funds at hand I'd buy it and use it for parts.

What's the rest of the car like as my son is looking for one.How many km's? and I suppose the transmission is no good.

bennoc
11-11-2007, 05:53 AM
246663kms it's done. The transmission is fine, it's the engine that needs replacing along with the shocks, and the rear bar and a new front grille. Pretty minor things apart from the engine but someone with a bit of skill can get it sorted pretty quickly. If I didn't have another magna sitting in my garage i'd put in the funds to get her going again. It's not registered and would need to be towed, but I'm keen to get rid of it soon so i'd take $300 for it.

The car isn't that bad just needs abit of work.I can see that you tried to pull the interior apart.
I got all the parts to fix it up including a complete interior so no problems there.
Looks like I will do a manual conversion as I got all the bits for it.

I'm just glad to have it gone from my place. I knew it wasn't too bad but I just didn't have the time or motivation to get it fixed.

WTF happened to your car lol

Anything that can be dinted/broken is dinted/broken.

Classic 2nd Gen Magna, proud of you :)

PS. Did somebody take a poo poo on your thermostat housing?

To me the only bits that need replacing are the back bumper, one taillight and a grille, i reckon a good polish and wax on that thing and it'll look mint

Have to agree, the damage is very little. It's only really cosmetic, can be fixed with a couple of wreckers parts ($50 tops at U-Pull-It in SA, whatever the equiv. is there) and as a plus... it's a V6 from the ground up.

Easily take a DOHC, even more plus. Also just noticed it has colour coded bumpers.

I'm going to do a manual conversion, change the interior , fix the dents plus a few other things and it should be sweet:D .A DOHC would be nice but funds won't allow it besides I got all the parts I need to fix it.This now the 9th 2nd gen that I got! My front yard looks a Mitsubishi dealer with 5 2nd gen Magnas plus a Pajero.
