hi guys... searched the forum and found a couple of threads describing how to change the front brake pads... does any one has a pic to show step by step as this would be the first time i try changing the pads myself... is there any difference in the way to change the pads for a TL which has ABS and a TE which doesnt??

It's no different.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Bendix General CT's.

on most magnas
for fronts

you take the tyre off

find the smaller lower bolt on the part holding the pads in

undo that one bolt

and the part holding the pads in should pivot up
when refitting push the piston in fully
before trying to fit the new pads
I use a g clamp

and dont forget the metal shim

dont undo the large 17 mm bolts that the caliper itself

this is a magna 380 front caliper

there is a seller online on ebay selling a set of rotor with pads for only $99 + $24 shipping
would this be more worth it than buying pads and sending the rotors for machining?
is it hard to change the rotor?

thats a good deal all round

the rotor comes off after you undo the caliper bolts

push of the caliper pull off the rotor

and then refit

RDA slotted rotors/Lucas pads, damn good braking, inexpensive ($200ish for both), tho the lucas pads can cause alot of brake dust.

watch what u match the Bendix rotors with, i remember when i looked around at brakes, they could really go thru the disc (talkin 10,000k's in some instances)... so do some research, tons of info on these forums, just search and ye shall find :)
