just wondering if any of you guys have used one of these exchange o/size throttle bodies?

what actual differences did u notice? i'm trying to aid the pre 3000 rpm dead zone (car is KJ Verada XI)

Firstly its a flowed TB, NOT an oversize one.

Basically the little metal lip right near the butterfly has been smoothed down into a nice curve to aid airflow. No HP gain, just a nicer feel from the accelerator thats all.

Sorry to pop your bubble, but its not over sized, its just 'flowed', meaning its had the lip on the inside removed so the air flow is smoother. But does make a difference in driving, much more responsive.

NOTE: This does NOT give you more power though, just a nicer throttle feel.

And get in touch with EZ Boy to get one at well below the cost of RPW units. VERY worthwhile mod though

or if you have access to some power tools you can do it yourself. it isn't very hard. i did mine and polished it up too. definately notice it. the moment i touch the gas you instantly feel it.

i have access to a mates workshop, he is a fitter/turner, and engineer/fabricator does alot of race cars and street cars.. i can use his milling machine to bore out the t/b and fit a larger butterfly in there.. :)

let u guys know how i go..

if you go that facilities... why don't you try and make or adapt a trottle body from the race cars??? at least it would be something different and NO one has one...

He's got a KJ Verada..... I'm guessing he likes cruise control.

The ego has adapted a 80mm Ford Mustang Trottle Body...

So it has been done.
He would know the way to go about it if thats what you want to do.

Yeah mine is stupid in size. can fit my closed fist down it. Now with all the intake done its so noisey....:) Big mods to the Plenium Chamber to get my TB to fit. Also lost my cruise control..:(

what ECU are you running? cos i can get complete billet T/B quiet cheap.. they come in a range of sizes from 60mm - 75mm, and just with a square 4 bolt pattern.. good for the manifolds he makes etc etc, but not for our application with cruise/TCL etc etc problem is i don't really want to go all out on an ecu at this stage.. so i thought shaving the stock throttle body out a little might be the way to go.. providing the t/b doesn't have any holes right where the butterfly closes like alot of others..

i think i'll be doing the rest of the exhaust first anyway.. i only have cat back at the moment, want to do the front..

i am not sure about the 3rd gens ,wether rpw do or dont sell o/s throttle bodies for them,
but they sold me an oversized throttle body (out of a FTO or something) for my 2nd gen.
it was O/S - not hi flowed.

I think it did improve low down torque. it has been so long since my car has workied properly that i cant really remember:confused:

Im using a Haltech E6X stand alone ECU. Also a 80mm T/B...:)

Hey guys, is there any noticeable benefit from smoothing out the lip after the butterfly? (turbulence?) I did the lip before the butterfly, worked a treat.

Most people would do them at the same time. I've got one that was flowed by EZboy and it had both sides done.

If you've got the T/B out and you're doing the inlet side - I can't see any reason why you wouldn't do the manifold side at the same time.
