Hi Just wondering about the tweeters for the Verada, I have the KS Verada and want to keep things looking fairly stock, don't want bulky looking systems. I notice you can get standard Mitsubishi tweeters, do these fit the KS or are they only for the later models.
would I then need to get crossovers of do the tweeters have a crossover protection setup on them.
How about the door speakers, what size speakers can I get where I don't have to do any chopping or major modifications.
The sound is a little hollow at the moment, would that be the crappy genuine speakers or lack of insulation, the previous owner put in a JVC head unit which is 50x4 (quoted, LOL).
I will be running a JBL 10" sub (amplifier needed) so I was going to just get some 6" coaxials for the rear parcel shelf as I think splits would be a waste in the back.
Your thoughts anybody.

Cheers Michael

Do a search and you will find heaps of info on this ..
i have a verada also and i can say the stock tweeters on the dash dont have a crossover already just a cap. I scraped the insides of my tweeters out and mounted some pioneer ones in the shells and that worked. i most recently installed pioneer splits in the factory spots and just screwed the tweeter pod to the plastic pillar on the door ( where they are located in the later model radas)
I suggest a larger sub of you can to penetrate the sound proof boot (i ran a comp series pioneer 10 and it was ok but not awesome)
6inches are more than fine for the rear.
I ran pioneer splits and alpine 6x9's in the rear straight of my alpine head unit (50x4) all ran well but i wished i used an amp for the internal speakers to high pass them.
but yeah search around and you wil find heaps more info :)

I remember answering a question about this (I think Fantaysia replied too actually) last week... Search is your new God.

Any little aftermarket tweeters will fit in your dash cavities under the metal grilles if you remove those horrible and probably decaying stock 'rada "tweeters". Double side tape them to the shelf that you'll see that the old magnet used to rest on.

6-6.5 inch speakers will fit in the doors if you have the appropriate mounts/cutouts (easily made yourself). If you don't, just fabricate a ring of MDF like I did to sit and screw your speakers on, which is much better than stock plastic (less flex, more punch to the speaker).

10 inch sub will be fine to punch into the cabin, provided it's a decent wattage... I'd be going with a 12 though, something about 10 inch subs just unsettles me...

Actually i managed to fit my Pioneer 6.5inch woofer into the factory pod without any mods. Just remove the plastic grill thats screwed to the door skin. I also used a silicone style stuff to seal the speaker. Not sure if this applies to all verada's though.

I've just pulled all my gear out last night to make it ready to trade in ... takes hours to install and minutes to remove lol

Ah, I was referring to cars that don't have the door speakers as standard (like mine), in which mounts must either be fabricated or sourced from a magna/verada that has them standard. I also removed foolish little grille thing from the pods that I obtained too... Looks cooler when you can see the speaker :P

Hey all, thanks for that info, so fantaysia what your saying is the 6.5" goes straight into the existing pod on the Verada door, does the wholw door trim come off.
