got a mate whose bdae is round the corner and everyone is willing to chip in to get him a set of HIDs for his madza 3... now the problem with everyone having no HIDs is that we dont know what colour to get him... should it be the 6000k or 8000k from what i see the 8000 looks really cool and nice... any one has hid to share??

And a hell of a lot dimmer. (OMG those lights above are so dim!)
At 10,000K you would be lucky to be producing the same light output as a decent halogen bulb.
4300K (standard) - 3200 Lumens
5000K (Philips Ultinons) 2800 Lumens
6000K (quite blue) 2400 lumens
8000K (very very blue) 1800 Lumens
10000K (almost purple) 1500 lumens
Halogen H7 55W - 1500 lumens
Halogen H7 80W - 2000 lumens
Take your pick...
Mazda 3 projectors take a BMW E46 / Audi TT projector drop-in from memory - the mounting holes line up. Why bother doing it half-assed?

Definitely dont go over 8000K. The light output gets worse the higher you go. 6000 is probably ideal, very white with a bit of blue, and decent light.

My Mazda 3MPS (sportspack) has HID's from factory.
They are 4300k in colour, they are a nice white colour (with a hint of blue) and are nice and bright unlike the really blue ones (6000k and up) that also give out less output.
