firstly hi everyone, ive been looking through these forums and not found anything on this so i thought i may ask

are these easy to replace yourself? my power steering chews through a bottle a fortnight and most of it comes spewing back out of the connector hoses which might mean the pump is shot.

odd thing is it leaks the majority of it in reverse, especially when i have to parallel park with all of the steering wheel movement, any ideas why this might be?

replace the two main hoses if they are leaking at the joints
they are expensive so try the wreckers

look for any leaks on the power steering rack boots under the car

the metal pipes have small O rings so dont loose them

the main pressure hose is difficult to tighten an undo on the TP pump
it has a large nut then the hose lock nuts into it
you need two spanners to get it to seal

if you want to remove the pump there is a small bolt you need to undo you get to through the pully

use the right powersteering fluid dont let the pump run dry
