Hey guys, my old man has a TH Sports Tiptronic. His current mods are: Extractors, 2.5inch exhaust, Unichip and filter. My question is, would a FPR be worth the money for his next mod? The reason I am asking this is, his birthday is coming up in a month or so and I want to go halves with my bro in getting him something for his car (its his baby).

Can we expect any difference? and in what part of the Rev range should we expect it?

Yeah I think it is a worthy mod for your dads beast, as he has got a few mods there already, as far as I know it will smooth things out a bit as it increases the pressure that fuel is supplied to the injectors, so no flat spots, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Or you could go get some porting and polishing done too.

Cheers.

You might reap some more rewards from a throttle body upgrade... however the next mod after that would have to be a FPR as I imagine flat spots might occur.

I think that even an unmodified Magna will benefit from a rising rate FPR.

I got mine after the pod filter and extractors, and it gave the car a very nice, noticeable low down improvement.

Awesome. I think I'll be getting one now for sure!

What brand/model have you got Velocity?
What was the cost?
Installation cost/requirements?

Mine is the one RPW sells, FSE I think.

Was just under $400 from memory, check with RPW for the latest because I got mine a while ago. I am not very mechanical but was able to install it myself, was easy. 8)

Back then you needed a t-piece and some vacuum hose, to t-piece the rising rate FPR with the factory FPR.

It's much easier now because apparently RPW sells the FPR with an adaptor which allows you to bolt the rising rate unit directly to the fuel rail doing away with the factory FPR completely.

And pressure adjustment is as easy as turning a screw on the top of the FPR and watching the gauge.

You will need something like a Gregory's manual to point you in the right direction to disconnect the fuel relay and then stall the engine, to remove fuel pressure before you take things apart.

If you take your car to a mechanic, I can't see it taking more than 20 minutes really.
