Just wondering about speaker setup for the 380 Platinum. I count 6 - 2 on the dash, 2 on the front doors and 2 on the rear. I thought the Platinum was based on the SX which also had 2 on the passenger doors?

Can any platinum owners confirm their stock speaker setup please? I'm beginning to think I should return the car to the dealer for some repairs on the window tinting, and if the speaker setup is all wrong then I may as well have them look into fitting the extra two speakers.

I'm pretty certain i only have 6 speakers in my platinum as well.....i seem to remember reading in the brochure that it has 8.....i should probably look into this.

Im sure they mean 2 way rears... This would account for the missing drivers.

Yeah RACQ lists it as 8 speakers. They also have me insured for metallic paint even though stealth black isn't metallic. I called up Mitsubishi customer service and they don't have the platinum variant on their database. They used to simply call it a VRX for record purposes so I essentially got no help there.

At least I know I'm not the only one with the same setup!

there are 8 speakers in the 380. 4 on the dash, 2 in the front doors and 2 on the rear parcel shelf. They count the splits on the front as 2 as there is a mid and a tweeter in the one unit. If you look directly down from outside the car you can see what im talking about.

Ah! Cool - now I get it. I would have thought it would have made more sense if they actually put 2 speakers in the passenger doors rather than being all driver centric, but that's cool. I don't intend on being the passenger in my car anyways! Wonder what the ES 6 speaker misses out on.
