Can't see why not but thought id see if anyone knows for sure.

the tn and tp have the same measurments at the back

NB :two makes of two bar and they fit different tow tounges and bolt threads

you are best to get better shocks even pump up air ones
and check the springs are even

also make sure the swing arm bushes are in good shape

make sure all the bolts are in the chassis

and the holes through to the tyre well
have the steel plates on each bolt

i put some heavy duty king springs and monroe gas reflex shocks 3 months ago. my bushes and all polyurathane and i just cleaned and regreased then last week.
so are you saying to put steel plates over the bolts in the wheel well?

Erm... Why would you do that?

for heavy duty towing
when towing say a caravan or heavy boat

the steel plates should have come with the tow bar fitment
the metal plates are about 2-4 mm thick square per bolt
without them the metal will tear through or crush

the metal plates share the load from the drilled out metal
there may also be metal crush tubes on these bolts in the tyre well

not planning on doing any heavy towing. it's all there in his boot just gotta remove and put it on the tp.
How hard is it to wire up?

oh and also the tn im taking it from has a water pump drama (housing has little cracks all over). so i told my mate that he can have my spare pump and i'll put it in if i can have the tow pack he never uses.
No probs then. pulled out the old pump and put in my second hand one in but it leaks between the block and housing. o-ring looks fine but after pulling on and off a few times i though id clean all mating surfaces. After doing that i notice some pitting on the inside of the block where the pump slide into cos probably not enough % of coolant used . Anyway if i put a gasket between the pump and block do you guys think it will stop the leak?

join trailer plug wires
one wire to the passengerside indicator
rest of the lights join up on the driverside lights
and then an earth wire
one hole to drill through the body so the wire feeds through to the trailer plug

old water pumps dont seal very well after being in the block

that crazing (housing has little cracks all over)
on the housing is corrosion within the pumps aluminium moulding

I think the housings corrode so much the O ring alone doesnt seal against the block
no matter how much sealant you use

you could try Stag as a sealant and keep an eye on it
yes cutting a gasket might work

safest thing is to buy a new pump

cool i'll try a gasket first then stag if that dosen't work.
I'ts not my car and ive got the impression he dosen't want to spend more than he has to. he wants to get a new car next year so a new pump is out, just gotta make this one work for now.
that pump was fine on my tp but mine hasn't got any corroion in the cooling sysytem (or pitting for that matter) cos im so anal about servicing and keeping it in as good nick as i can.

tryed to fit the tn pow pack but it does not fit. the chassis on the tp seems to be 1-2cm (just guessing cos i had nothing to measure it) narrower. the bolt holes all seem close but it was to wide to to fit between the rails. also stamped on the id plate was tm-tn magna:confused:

is the bolt sections thicker metal on the towbar up the chassis

2 cms out seems strange what was the brand of towbar (hayman reece)

can you fill us in on where the difference is
need a welder

thanks

My towbar for my TM was off a TN.

The plate only said 'to fit TM-TN'.

Towbar was hayman reece. i cant see why the TP would be different.

that is the same as this one.
It bolts to each side of the chassis buy 2 bolts on the inside of the rails. I could get one side to line up and got one bolt a turn or so in but the other side would go past the rail buy about 2cm.
Welder is one of the tools i'm yet to buy, but im not about to moddify it seeing as it needs to be strong and not really a job for a beginer welder, doesn't need to be pretty but strenght it needs to have. Also ive got a feeling that u'd need an engineers certificate to moddify it. Hate for it to brake while towing.
Guess i'll just keep an eye on the paper to see if a first gen comes up for sale that has one fitted, then ask if they want to part with it seperatly.
Dam wreckers up here don't stock 1st gens anymore:rant:
