Hi all,

This is not for my car, but for my sisters. She has a 2002 liberty that has a clarion 6 CD Stacker under the front seat.

I was just wondering, If I was to change the headunit for an aftermarket one, how would I hook up the stacker to it? Is it possible? anything to look for in terms of head unit specs etc?

Thanks in advance,

-Ian

im guessing the stacker came stock?
your going to have to check the connection on the back of the h/u to see what the input is like for the stacker
but i dont think you can use factory stackers with aftermarket decks, but i may be wrong

I'm guessing so too.

Redbook says that it's standard equipment. It's a clarion though, would Subaru put a clarion stacker in a liberty?

Anyway, thanks for that info Mr_Roberto, i'll have a look when I get to removing the current H.U.

Clarion stackers come with a connection called CEnet. It's specific to Clarion from what i believe, and the replacement leads are damn expensive. I run the setup in my car, with stacker in the boot, to head unit.

So if I wanted to run the stacker off a sony H/U, it wouldn't be possible or overly cheap?

Only if the head unit has a CEnet output. Have a look at the cable running from the stacker to the unit. It'll be a thick black one. It has a square plug connection that i believe is unique to Clarion technology, but don't quote me on that, i just haven't found any other unit that has them yet.
