ive seen chrome around the windows (mostly on veradas of the latest model magnas) and i think it looks sweet, espec on a black car, as i saw mine parked to a new model and the chrome looked nice.
first of all.....does anyone know what that thing is on the windows of this aqua car? that small lip thing which seems to be half chrome...?
and secondly....
has anyone put just the chrome lip around the black part of their windows or got it done?

The slimline weathershields are readily available (approx $250 for the pair) from Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi refer to them as RAINGUARDS.

I have them on my TL ; However I have found that the fitment to the body (attached via clips) is not particularly good. You WILL get wind noise above 80km/h, but it's only slight. Do they actually prevent rain from coming in? Actually, no!

The actual rainguard can be quite flimsy, and some of the fastening screws do randomly go missing (ie. fly off) from time to time. I've lost two this year. But, you can get replacement aunger weathershield rivets from Autobarn or similar ($1).


And, with regards to the chrome trim around the windows -- It was standard in all TE-TH. The TJ, TL/TW had black window surrounds.
TF/TH Sports have chrome
TJ/TL/TW Sports/VRX have black

All Veradas from KE - KW have chrome.

weird, ud think they would have put it on a limited edition tj....:( i guess it either comes or not.. :doubt:

I don't get the slimline windshields on the aqua VRX, how do they attach? They can't fit to the window frame because there isn't one, they can't fit to the window because it retracts into the door, and they cant fit to the B biller of the car because that would block the door opening with the window up.....I'm confused :confused:

i jst bought some of those slim rain shields for my dads wagon.... left side was 70 and the right side was 90.... :S

i also got the chrome on my TF solara

my TE exec had the chrome around the windows, but my new TJ Solara dosn't...

the weather shields attach with screws AND double sided tape to the cant rail mould. i'm not a fan of chrome but it can look alright on the right coloured car if there is heaps of it (ie:garnish, grille, handle inserts, belt moulds and cant rail moulds). i reckon black cars look good with no/minimal chrome. the only chrome on mine is the badges, i removed the weathershields i had and changed over to TL handles. when i need tyres next i will probably get some black rims as well. it looks stealth.
