Hi Guys,

Well its been an ah, interesting night.

Pulled up at a set of lights, lights went green as I got there - turned system up and floored it. Just before redline, 2 loud bangs, battery light comes on, lights dim. Limp the car home.

Open bonnet, alternator belt is missing, along with the little pulley where the tensioner is.

Anyone know how much these cost?

Gave me quite a scare to say the least, luckily no damage to the fuel tank, engine will be inspected a bit more tomorrow incase the belt/pulley stuffed anything else  :doubt:

Edit: 1997 Magna TF Advance 3.0lt

what you got 1st gen 2.6L carb auto 2nd gen 3.0L auto 3rd gen 3.5L manual 380 3.8L tiptronic?

different engines different parts...

pretty funny though lol

lucky there wasnt any damage to the fuel tank.... thats 2m away underneath the car :P

you can still drive it though..... that it untill you run out of electricity lol

wreckers for the tensioner and bursons/repco/mitsu for the belt...

make sure nothing has broken though... as in bolt snapped off in the block

Sorry updated the post, 3lt 97 TF advance.

Yeah I cant see any damage as yet, will have a better look tomorrow with sunlight (and, see if there's any fluid loss after 1 day).

Praying the belt/pulley did not damage anything else, there's brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank, wires all in the way of a flying belt and pulley lol

Trying to see the funny side.....though 1 month out from xmas and rego.....struggling to lol
