I think it swtiches the A/C motor on and off more often to save fuel.... Less load on the motor....

On the ECO setting, the compressor only comes on when needed.

When on the A/C setting, the compressor stays on for much longer. WHy you ask?

A humid day or in the snow are perfect examples.

On a humid day, it might not be that warm so if on the ECO mode, the compressor might not need to come on much to reduce temp but you may want it to stay on more to help get rid of the humidity in the air so you put it on A/c and put the heater on a little.

Also the same in the snow. If you have it on eco mode, obviously the system says to itself, i dont need the compressor on to cool the car and it doesnt come on, therefor usually causing the interior to fog up with all the moisture in the air and your breathing.

Put it on A/C mode, and this forces the compressor on to clear the moisture on windows for you while allowing you to run the heater at the same time.

A relavent question. Is there anyway to keep the fan running without turning the aircon on in system with climate control? I can't find any info on that in the manual and whichever button I press it turns the aircon on.

If you push the AC button twice the icon will go out and it will be just a fan.
