Hi,
Just signed on!
I have a '99 3.5 with 5 speed manual that has a noisy bearing. Can anyone recommend a good place to have it reconditioned?
Cheers,
Ben.

I hear "The Gearbox Shop" in Alice Springs are good.

Otherwise a little more info on where you are may assist.

Oh yeah sorry. I'm in Lismore (far north east of NSW) so often SE QLD is easier.

get the price of the syncro kit (common fault )
and the bearings

better to find a gearbox shop in lismore if they stuff it up
less distance to tow

choose a good brand clutch

have the rear engine seal replaced at the same time

What part of lismore are you in?
I worked for a guy there...... a total f**k wite!!!
Sorry i just hate the guy with a pashan.
I would go to mitsubishi Motors there or in ballina.
The ballina one is on the corna of river st/pacific hwy
and brunswick st or twead st  one of the two.
I grew up all around that airea but mostly in byron now in QLD.
Good to see another Ben on hear.......We will take over the world some day.:)
