Yep... Protection mode for your headunit... unplug the offending speaker and see what happens.

yeah you should have solidered the joins
you need to reset the deck, there should be a reset button somewhere on the deck
normally behind the face plate

Un-plug the rear harness and plug it back in. If that doesnt work you might have blown the fuse. Check the fuse on the rear of the deck and the one in you fuse box. If you can get it going again, do what Lucifer said and d/c the speaker. The wires have probably touched somewhere so check the wiring behind the deck and near the speaker.
Classic case of one of the speakers shorting out on the chassis.
First find out which one it is and then find out where it's shorting out and and redo the wiring.
Either that or you've already blown the fuse on the headunit, or the incar radio fuse. :)

That is all good and well but I would be concerned about why it occured in the first place.

quick question, with grounding. do i always ground the speaker directly yo the chassis or do i ground it to another wure. also, in the second gen the green and white wire (illumination wire). do i just cut it and leave it there or do i conenct it to something. i use it as a groundign for the headunit and now have no illumination, well no parker lgiht (no dash, no internal and etc)

 dude use the black wire from the new harness and create you own new earth. Best idea is to make a loop earth and attach it to the nearest bolt making sure that if it is painted, to strip away the paint. This way you can be sure of the connection. I hope you meant ground the head unit and not the speaker as you said...
For the illum yeah you should hook that up. It tells the unit that the lights are on and to dim the unit if you have told it to. You lights probably aren't working because something else is not right. Just to make sure you should have the following from your new deck:
12V power ( usually red )
Acc ( usually yellow
Earth ( Black )
Illum ( Orange ? )
Remote / Aerial ( blue ) some decks have both
Speakers outputs ( 8 wires in total, Pioneer use white, grey, green, purple )
In your case all of those wires should be hooked up correctly to the existing harness except for the Earth and the Remote / Aerial.

Are you sure? I know the ones with the OEL displays do. Never had any other deck besides that
In that case just cut and seal the existing illum wire that you found and not worry about it. Make sure you seal it properly so it doesnt short.
