today i was a bit bored and decided to clean the car out in a highly detailed way.

did the full vacumme thing - got ever bit of dirt and bits of grass and rocks/pebles that managed to work thier way into the car

on the back seat, there are a couple of light and small grease like marks.
they dont look like they are deep / heavy on the seat but it detracts from the spotless look i was trying to go for.

i havnt used anything to gtry and clean it off *yet* because im not sure what the best way to do it would be.

BTW - i dont have the leather interior, the light greyish black cloth interior.

whats the best way to get the greasey marks off my seats?
preferably, i would like to do it without the costs of professional cleaning and i dont like the idea of someone else having my car for a while/the day kinad creeps me out.

cheers guys and gals :)

White Spirits or Sard/Preen etc

Spray it on, rub it in with a damp sponge/cloth.

Then rinse sponge/cloth and pat dry.

i went hunting through the cleaning cupboard, and found this:
"Kimberly Clark - ISO Wipe"

these worked beauifully - i was really suprised actually at how well it came out.

now im really happy - clean interior, as new.

Was gonna say if you could get your hands on some GP Clean from AutoKlene or Interior Cleaner from Wurth that they're really good cleaning products.

ISO wipes are alcohol wipes and would have a very similar effect to white spirits.

I got some dirty marks on my back seat from the black crap underneath it (i was ripping out the back seat to get the 2 speakers out)

Thats what you had? or was it something else, the crap that got on mine was kind of sticky, but light coloured and not sticky on the seat

oh bugger it, im not making sense

i havnt tried to pull the rear speakers / seat out at all, so mine musta been different black stuff. I think i know what stuff you are talking about... but i thought seat backs where just held in with bolts / clips?

im pretty sure i know where mine came from - when packing/moving outa the house in Mackay, had a few things sitting on my backseat while running them to where they hadda go to and one of them mighta been dirrty as such.

when i was done with the ISO wipes, i wiped over the area again with a damp papertowel to remove any excess alcohol.
now all i have to do, is work out how to get the cig smoke smell outa my car, and il be able to sell it in a as new condition used car! lol
(naaah - aint getting rid of this baby in a while)
