Hey all,
I've finally got both my subs. both Kenwood KFC W0311 with 1200W Peak and 400 RMS power.
I want a 4 channel amp for obvious reasons, or a monoblock, that will give them sufficient power but wont turn me into a Flinders station busker.
lol
Thanks for your help in advance,
-Ian

I guess that depends on how far away you are from being this busker

Have you looked at the price of the Kenwood amps? i have an 1800w mono driving my two kickers and i *THINK* it was only around the $400 mark. I think... cant really remember, but it was a good price. check out their range.

+1 for the Jaycar amps
Can't beat their value for $$
1x800wrms monoblock would run those subs quite nicely.

I've got one of those Kenwood subs, I run it with a coustic monobloc 400W RMS, and it kicks hard. Cost under $300

To power 1 or 2 subs that will be purfect. Just remember you'll need good wiring to match that up too.
You going to be amping any speakers?
i would try and find some 2nd hand ones on mobile electronics Australia. save some money.

When it comes to amp's i think you cant go past kicker.
They are so powerful and strong, most of the people( in the know )
that i have talked to say they only go for kicker amp's.
The rest dont seam to cut it.
Its up to you mate but thats what i will be going for.:)

Obviously they don't get out much... :bowrofl:
Ill drop a few names for quality amps.. Audison, Audio System, DD, Focal, Hertz, Tru Tech, Vibe, Zapco
But yeah a mate has the new 4x 100wrms and it has ample features ( xovers etc ) for the normal system. Best of all they are reliable!

Heard them all,
Soundstream, MB Quart, Zapco, Tru-Tech : )
But at the end of the day, spend the money where you'll hear it. Most won't hear the difference of a good amp compared to a good value amp, when you are talking about entry level headunits/speakers.
A good amp can't make crap speakers sound good.
Priority should be:
Front Splits/speakers
Headunit/processing
Amps

Okay well my current setup is:
200W 2-ways in the front, 250W 3ways in the rear (6x9) running off a 45Wx4 Pioneer CD/Tuner deck. nothing overly powerful, but i'm liking the sound they put our already for low-end,budget speakers.

So are you after an amp for your subs only, or an amp for your speakers as well?

You don't need them, they are Kenwood speakers therefore 200W is equal to about 35-50WRMS.
They're not high end speakers, so why get a too high end amp?
I reckon something like the Kenwood 4 Ch 640w Amp for the speakers ($219), that'd probably drive about 50w to each channel and a Pioneer 800w Mono Bloc ($248) for the subs.
That should drive everything just fine under $500 all up.

Thats why the Jaycar amps have been suggested....
I think people got a little lost. The only reason I mentioned all the other quality brands of amps was directly inregard to the "most of the people( in the know )that i have talked to say they only go for kicker amp's." comment :D
