Hi all,
As some of you know, I purchased a set of EVO4 calipers and rotors. Well I have the front flex lines coming in the post, and am in the process of sand blasting the calipers (they come up a treat!). These are exactly the same as the AWD/Ralliart calipers.
Now my problem... I am trying to find a caliper seal kit as the dust covers are basically gone and I would like the peace of mind in knowing they all are replaced.
Just spoke to the spare parts division at North East Mitsi, and they said I need to know the VIN number it came from as there are different kits :S
One kit is about $12 and the other one (MB857840) is about $76. I would have thought all the 3rd GEN twin pot calipers were the same.
Anyone know what he is talking about? He wasn't very helpful.

It will be the $76.00 kit, and you will need 2 of them. I recently rebuilt a pair of AWD calipers. The $12 kit may only be the internal seal???

Bah flamin useless people... I rang again and got another guy, and after stressing that the AWD/EVO4/Ralliart calipers are EXACTLY the same, he looked it up and they only have 1 listing for the twin pot seal kits... grrrrrrr
So all is sorted and they are on order!
Monster Inc: Did the kit include ALL the seals? Including the one on the inside the piston cylinder (not on the piston itself, but the bore).

Yep. It was a complete seal and grease kit. From memory 1 kit contained,
2 x piston dust boots
2 x piston boot retaining springs
2 x inner seal
1 x orange grease to pack the piston boots
Take care with the seals. Only use soft tools when working on the calipers (I used a modified chopstick for the removal and installation of seals and springs lol ) If you score the bore or the piston with a screwdriver, you may get a leak.
