I've spotted some 16x7 inch holotypes on ebay for sale in Brisbane.

I emailed the guy and he says the offset is +38 and the centrebore 72mm. The PCD is OK at 114.3mm
I know the Magna offset is supposed to be 46mm and I thought the centrebore was 69.1mm?
These wheels wouldn't fit then?

I was under the impression that anything over +38 should fit? Though being 7inch, this might be a bit close...
To me, the centre bore being larger should be a good thing? Should mean it clears properly?
Any chance of getting a test fit? I've done that with people on ebay before.

Yup bigger centre bore is better than a smaller one.
They should fit fine mate.

I thought the centrebore had to be an exact fit because that's what supported the wheel. I though the nuts just held it to the hub?
Also, where would I get wheel nuts and how much do they cost?

Some stuff on centerbore
http://speedywheels.com/wheel-tech.htm
It says:
The hub hole is the hole in the centre of the wheel which mates with the centre hub of the car.
The centre bore must locate on the centre hub as the car’s load must be directed through this point.
Locating wheels on the studs/nuts is not the correct way to locate a wheel onto a car. The studs/nuts merely prevent the rim from spinning around the hub axis, and holds the rim to the vehicle.
By not locating a wheel on the cars’ centre bore, the vehicle can sometimes encounter vibration problems, which can lead to either loosening of the studs/nuts, broken studs/nuts, or at worst, rim failure.

Centerbore and Hubcentric Rings
This refers to the center bore in the wheel that centers the wheel on the hub of the car. Since most wheels are mass produced, they have a large center bore to accommodate several different vehicles. If there is a vibration problem, it is recommended that you use hub centric rings. Hub rings are hard plastic rings that link the wheel to the vehicle. This centers the wheel and makes your wheel hub centric. Without hub rings it is possible to get vibrations even if the wheel and tire package is completely balanced.

Where they make up rings in alloy. had anyone had this done?
Is it common to just not worry about it? Does anyone have hub rings? Are aussies too tough for this?

Did you end up buying those wheels?
I have found some rims 17x7.5" with +38 offset,
76.1 centre bore and
PCD of 114.3 but can't figure out if they will fit a magna
I know the PCD matches but I am not sure of the rest.

I worked out that at that width and offset the tyre would stick out 20mm more than stock. I think that offset is the same as for a Falcon. Some people have put Ford Territory rims on their cars and they just stick out too far.
Also the whole centre bore thing seems a hassle. I think most people just ignore it and take a chance that they won't get vibration.
I decided to get whatever Mitsu factory rims I can . That way I know they'll fit properly and won't give me hassles ( I have other problems anyway lol )

Thanks for the reply.
I agree the offset is probably the biggest issue as it would make these wheels stick out too far.
Cheers
