knox auto carpets.. forget the website address now..

but i think its around $130 for a new 2 piece carpet.. can choose short or long pile or looped etc..

i wouldnt even bother tyring to recolour it for that price, unless it was already in top condition..

i think its VHT that make a dye that can be used for carpets and the like - but, you would have to strip your interior anyhow and buy a LOT of cans/dyes to do the whole lot and make it look good, it would end up being cheaper to buy a Knox carpet.
seeing as you have got to strip the interior either way...

You can't dye your car carpet as you would fabric (in a traditional sense) as most (if not all) car carpet is made from nylon or other annoying polymer based textiles. Aeorosol sprays for vinyl and **** will work, but will ultimately look like **** because the carpet itself is fibrous rather than a sheet like vinyl is, so it will clump together.

it can be done - i was reading the instructions of one of tins i have lying around here, and it says to do carpets you need to get a brush, comb the carpet one way, spray and comb in one direction, then do it back in the other direction. repeat again - and it also says for a more deep effect do it a third time.

the combing of the carpet while spraying, is spose to stop it clumping together - in theory.
i only painted my vynle door cards on my old old car, so i havnt actually done carpet.

in the long run it will be better for you to get new carpet made to your colour because the carpet is the most wearing out bit of the car the dye will eventually fade away.

dont bother dying your carpet. it will fade. ive dyed the carpet on the bottom of my doors and from feet pushing the door open when getting out im noticing slight fade. however thats a low use area so its nothing a touch up cant fix but your carpet will fade quick. just get a new carpet. i forgot the name of where i got it done though so cant refer you to a place.

also using the vinyl/carpet dye on carpet doesn't cause clumping. it looks like it does when you spray it (if you spray too much by mistake) but the excess paint appears to soak in

edit: knox auto carpets as someone above said was who made my carpet.
