Hello all, hope you don't mind me asking another silly bunch of questions (did the same a few weeks ago but sale fell thru)
Am looking to maybe purchase this:
http://search.carsguide.news.com.au/news/find-a-car/power-search/search-results/car-details.do?make=MITSUBISHI&model=VERADA&make2=&model2=&make3=&model3=&keyword=&priceFrom=2500&priceTo=10000&body=&newBody=&transmission=&lifeStyle=&yearFrom=1997&yearTo=&location=VIC&postcode=&radius=10&stockNumber=&sortFields=A&asc=true&pageNumber=&searchType=3&dealerId=&featureAd=true&vehicleId=159510&vehicleType=3
Was wondering if anyone had any commets/things to look out for/praise of this model or ideas of how much I should be paying. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Cheers
Mark

first, cruise control/aircon was standard issue, so dont believe that crap
2nd, michelin tyres dont matter 10yrs on (unless thats all hes bought since then, or its wearing 10yo tyres!)
everything looks ok, but theres no interior shots or mention of the condition... so definitely go over that if you inspect it, as it seems like hes nicely avoiding the interior.
usual thing, check for rust, check for noisy engine... low k's for the age, double check its had regular services (and not based on mileage, based on age... gotta be serviced atleast every 6 months)
price seems right if its in top condition... only if its in top condition tho, otherwise price seems a lil bit high
maybe consider a slightly newer model with tippy? tho if budget wont allow it, that car looks alrite :) (pending the above details)

I bought myself one of them in march for $5000, excellent car.
Sturdy :P, runs well (Im managing ~6Lp/100 highway, and about 10Lp/100 in town) etc, but 7500 seems a bit high, 10 months rego is good
EDIT: he claims about 530km per 65l tank, its a 72 (i think), I pull closer to 800 out of a tank of good driving, 400ish getting ahead of people on a regular basis

My last car.
Without doubt the best car I have ever owned.
I had it from new tho til 240 000K.
Only thing that was a bit dodgy was the electric aerial. Check that it exends fully and retracts ok.
This one at 133K will still give you years of trouble free - unless you mod it to death..
Atlantic Blue was the colour I had as well....er...I'm going to cry... snif
Edit: AFA fuel economy - you can get 550 easily but push it and it'll bite and be more like 400 as Mercury said.

Just spoke to the owner - reckons he's set on $7500 with a RWC, any price below without, sounds a bit dodgy to me..

I wouldn't pay more than $6000 personally.

Look up the Redbook values. They are nowhere near $7500. Its a buyers market- so in my opinion if he won't come at $6K then give him the flick. Better off to get a later model if you have $7500 to spend

May I ask what else have you owned, just for comparison sake? I'm looking at buying a similar car (Xi model though), and it pleases me to know a 380 owner considers them the best car they had lol

Sunrooooooooof??? Its like the only optional extra on a Xi Verada....hence why I quite plainly don't want an Ei lol
I personally don't think anyone should pay over $5.5k for a KE/KF Ei, I personally wouldn't pay over $5k.

Well mate I paid $7500 for my 2000 KH Ei with only 112000km (everything in great condition, new tyres, only needed new brake pads) and 10mths rego, so I'd say he's asking a bit much, especially considering the incredible deal WV got on his.
Only thing that was a bit dodgy was the electric aerial. Check that it exends fully and retracts ok.
I have that problem too, it works fine in the half-height position so I have it set to only go up half. I have a brand new aerial to install, just haven't had time.
