Hi
Anyone know how to remove the steering wheel off a 98 tf magna?
I have removed the horn assembly and undone the big nut but cannot budge the steering wheel. cant see anything else holding it on.
any advice would be appreciated

There is nothing else holding it on. Just pull it and shake it and eventually you will find the correct angle and it will come off nice and easily.

go out and buy a steering wheel puller pretty cheap u put the 2 bolts into the steering wheel the third longer one sits in the steering coloumn shaft, start tightening it with ur knees behind the wheel for leverage, forcing or belting the wheel with a hammer etc can cause BIG PROBLEMS

I used to fit the steering wheels to the 3rd gen's from te to tj when I worked in the plant. We used to leave the nut on loose (a couple of threads will do) then wedge our knees behind the wheel (to put a fair bit of pushing force against the wheel, in your heads - (thats why you leave the nut on loose) direction!) Then bang your fists on the rims edge (towards the floor, the opposite direction you actually want it to go) and BANG, it will pop loose.
Cheers,
Steve
Hopefully you dont have an airbag lol

Seriously- The airbag is not a problem. Just make sure the ignition is switched OFF. or if you're scared, disconnect the battery before you disconnect the big yellow wire with the white plug on it from the back of the airbag. You willl have to pull it pretty hard, but it will disconnect. You shouldn't need a puller, just wedge your legs behind the rim of the wheel to put the pressure behind the wheel, and give it a couple of good whacks!
