Looking at some options for a stud pattern change for my rally car, and will be in need of a dozen or so FWD offset 15" alloys.

After trawling through the usual Silvia / Skyline options (ho hum) I remembered that the 1st Gen Magnas came with semi decent looking alloys (referred to as Atoms - see pic below)

I'm assuming these are a 15x6, with about +45 offset, right? If so, they would probably suit my rear axle needs perfectly (does anyone know whether these will fit onto a DR30 strut? These also run FWD offset, but I'm not sure whether it's as much as 45mm)

Other questions:

Are these wheels readily available and cheap? I will be looking for a dozen to get started, and I know I can pick up stock S13 Silvia mags for around $50 a pop
How strong are the rims? It's only a small rally car, but the rims still cop a pounding
What kind of wheel nuts do the rims take? Tapered inserts, or the typical thick shank mag nut?

thanks all.

they are 15 inch elite rims
4 stud
the nissan mags fit the magna
same wheel nut as a magna
rims are very strong I haven seen a post about a busted one
just try your rim on the rally car
the difference between the mags is in height and very little in width

We have 5 for sale in brisbane

They're 15x6, offset is about +45.

Not sure about durability, there's a lot of webbing on the actual face so they look pretty strong.

There's quite a few of them at each UPI yard in SA, they go for $20 each or there abouts, they give huge discounts if you buy lots of stuff though, lots of wheels etc.

Thanks heaps for the feedback

I'm at the pre-feasibility stage at the moment. the car's an early Mazda, but am looking to upgrade the driveline to S3 RX7, and the front struts to DR30. This will give stronger driveline, better front end geometry (better scrub radius, less loading of bearings, wider track etc) as well as open up a better range of wheels (anyone tried to buy 4x110 wheels lately?:doubt: )

BCX7 - what did you do to crack the rims? Was it normal driving, racing, rallying or "drifting" (ie hitting kers sideways in industrial areas)?

$20 each sounds like my budget. I made a typo in my first post, meant to say $50 a pair.
