Just doing a service at home on the Magna, can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is located and is there anything I should be aware of/make sure I do before changing on a TH Auto?
Cheers

Pop your head under the car near the rear passenger tyre.
Youll see it mounted under there.
Also depressurise the fuel system first, either by disconnnecting the relay for the pump or disconnection the fuel hose itself (I prefer the latter as it it easier) but if you do a search you should find it.

yeah i did mine a few weeks back. it was full of crap. i took the fuel cap off to depressurise the tank but there was still a little bit of pressure in the line. it is reasonable easy to change.

Or getting it straight in your eye at high pressure as I have had, not fun. (Changing filter but too lazy to depressurise) lol

WTF happened
not as bad as it sounds
just as a kid i used to live out west on a cattle station and one time when we were filling the car the 44 was on the other side of the car and i had the nozel holding it in the tank while dad pumped petrol for some reason we were in a hurry and he was pumping really fast and when the tank was almost full i told him but he thought it had a heap to go but it didn't... so i got massive splash back and just got covered in petrol couldn't see for like a day and hurt like you wouldn't believe got **** loads in my eyes coz i wasn't much taller then the fuel cap

I tried to do mine to day but I couldn't get the filter of the main fuel line. Couldn't budge the nut underneath and it felt like I was going to twist the fuel line or break it.

question regarding fuel filter change? this might sound dum :) but do you have to have an empty tank before changing it.

Nope the filter is above the level of the tank - but be prepared there is a shed load of fuel in the lines from there to the engine and it will vent back all over you if you're not ready....

the manual says you push the hose toward the filter - then you have to find the two squeeze points (Like a child proof cap) and will then release - yes you need strong fingers....

Just changed mine tonight, got a fuel/air-con hose clip release kit from Super cheap to release the right angle fitting. The old filter looked original, or genuine anyway so hasn't been replaced for along time, rattled when you shake it, so i don't think it's been working very well!
