I have saved around $2500-3000 to start doing some shizz with the 2004 TL ES Tippy Auto.

What would you guys think i should do to start modifying my car?

Completely stock engine, just 18's, dark window tint and a nice speaker system at the moment.

I am thinking along the lines of lowering with Kings lows SP, and then i will work on the engine. Such as a CAI, extractors and a nice muffler system?

I am not going to do this myself, i will likely be heading into RPW, or a place that is recommended...?

my suggestions:

lower the car with super lows at the front, lows at the back, or if you dont mind a rough ride, superlows all around. i got stage 2 sports ryders at the front and stage 1 on the back, and i love it, looks good, rides well, feels most bumps but i dont care.

after this i would get extractors, hi flow cat, straight through muffler.

if any cash left over which there will be i would get a piggy back ecu.

I think i am going to go the SL on front and lows on rear.

I thought that the cat on magna's was pretty good as it it is? I am actually contemplating a dual exhaust setup?? With a pod chucked on the front?

there will be alot of different opinions about the pods, although i just got one and it sounds good and only makes a small difference for me, although i got a heap of mods done at once. the cat on its own wont make much of a difference although put together with extractors helps a little.

There is a specific pod for the magnas that doesnt interfere with the MAF.

with a full exhaust cai etc... you may be a poofteenth quicker on the 1/4mile if your lucky

the same noise as a full exhaust can be had from just a muffler swap

so i'd personally just swap the rear muffler and get coilovers and a rear swaybar!

then with the change maybe some minor lil mods to make it nice

funnily enough :stoopid: lol But i dont think you will be quicker with a full system after extractors, I for example wasted my $$$ on a cat and cat back and managed the exact times on the 1/4...before cams. So do a muffler as suggested and extractors and lower it. Your budget probably wont cover coilovers but it can still look good without em. maybe an rpw plenum instead. Suppose to be good for an auto.

Thanks for the response folks.

Looks like i will just go the Lukey exhaust, race xxtractors, pod or CAI, and lowering.

In terms of lowering, i am interested in lovells and KYB's.

Is it worth getting a high flowing TB and a fuel pressure regulator?

I think i will look into ECU and tuning etc. a bit further down the track.

Cheers,

Well I got a couple mods put on:

K+N panel filter
RPW high flowed TB
RPW race extractors with 2.5" flex pipe
High flow metal cat
2.5" lukey cat back

Lovells superlow front
Lovells low rear
KYB shocks
Whiteline 22mm rear sway bar

The car feels alot better when driving, its good to hear it when i accelerate and the TB is very responsive. Very happy with the results. Unfortunately i couldn't afford a dyno run but i will get that done in the future when i put some more power mods on.

I have barry's mods and some iridium sparkies to throw in.

In the future i plan a:
Home made CAI
Haltech miniceptor/interceptor piggy-back ECU
EZ Boy manifold
Ralliart or 262 duration cams like lenda (been following your car with interest, cheers)
Brake and suspension mods

I think thats about it for the moment.

Very happy with it so far!
