Just wondering what your thoughts are around running a non rising rate fuel reg on a turbocharged vehcle

I have a Haltech e8 and will be running 550cc injectors and was curious as to wether i really need a rising rate fuel reg (because i currently have a sard non rising rate one already)

My thoughts would be that as long as there was enough pressure to run full boost that the ecu should be able to be programed to apply the correct amount of fuel to run at an optimum level and not too rich.

However im not sure if it works like that i.e even if the injectors were running at a low duty cycle would the fuel presure be too high that it would cause problems idling etc etc

TC is prob more qualified to answer this with the tuning he does, but from my understanding the idea is to keep fuel pressure constant, so if ur adding boost, u need to add fuel pressure. personally i think for the bit a new reg might cost its prob worth it.

The overwhelming majority of turbo FI cars do NOT run a rising rate regulator - reason - the injectors are correctly sized such that they have sufficient flow on boost.

If you have the right sized injectors and a good map - no problems.
