giving my bro a hand installing a JVC KD AVX11 in his car, hooked it all up and noticed a handbrake wire. Thought ****it. Turn it on, try play a movie and it asks for the handbrake.
How can i bypass this ? does it only need 12v ?
EDIT: Never mind found out its a ground.

I hate when that happens. You do some googling, cant find an answer. Make a thread and the next google you find it lol

i suggest you wire it up to a swithable on/ff type application, because if you get pulled over, the cops WILL RAP YOU :D. Unless the screen is a navigation dedicated unit, or behind the drivers line of sight, its a distraction, you will get defected AND fined, so having a switch, just switch it off when you get pulled over. My 2 Cents.

thats a good idea - i should do the same for my alpine head deck.
good thing about a switch and getting pulled over, the deck should show the safety warning when ya kill it...
took me ages to work out how to get past the handbrake safety thing, then worked out that it needs a VERY good ground - not through the wiring harness ground but its own seperate one (in my case anyhow)
i never have my screen out anyhow - the thing sticks all the time when im trying to get it to come out of the dash. its old.. might be time for a new one - i want touchscreen now :D

When i found out how to wire it up i was gonna actually put it through the handbrake but it had some resistance in it so i just put it on its own but yeah, ill put a switch in :)
