Hi all
just wondering who here has the sat nav option fitted to their 3rd gen. Im referring to the genuine misi issue, not one that you stick on the dash or windscreen.
I would like to know where the components are fitted (other than the screen) like the disc drive ect as I have one and am looking to fit to my vehicle soon
Pics would be appreciated if you get time/remember as I have only seen pics in mohits thread

I dont have it, but AFAIK the CD player is mounted under the passenger seat. The maps are on CD and the latest Mitsu issue ones are from 2001.
You can get a new CD from UBD/Whereis/whoever but the correct CD is like $450 unfortunately.

yeah my mate bought mohits, screen replaces whole ciggy lighter setup, the drive mounts where the tray thing is under passengers seat and reads off the cd which is quite outdated. it plugged straight in. its really not great, bad spot for the lcd, awkward controller to use, i much prefer a windscreen touchscreen one

WOW thats an expensive CD. Does anyone happen to know where I would ring off the top of their head before I start making a million phone calls to find one. either that or a tomtom mobile one. pity that CD is so dear, Im keen to install the factory unit

never knew mitsu offered a sat nav option in their later magnas, i guess it makes sense though.
anyone got pics? i wouldve thought one of those aftermarket double din units off ebay that has built in GPS and bluetooth would be a perfect match for a magna dash, and the hole there in the centre :)

I bought the Mitsu (Blaupunkt) sat nav off forum member Gremlin. It was brand new. Before i fitted it to my Verada i decided to go with a touch screen sat nav instead. I sold it on eBay to another forum member. If you have the storage tray under the front passenger that will have to go as that's where the CD ROM drive goes.
Here's a pic of the Mitsu sat nav. It's actually a Blaupunkt Travelpilot DX sat nav that's modified to fit into a 3rd gen Magna. You will have to cut off the centre console area ahead of the cup holder so that the screen unit will fit. I contacted Whereis about map updrade CDs but they refered me to Blaupunkt. I contacted Blaupunkt and Bosch about upgrade CDs but never heard back from them.

I got a Kenwood/Garmin touchscreen sat nav instead:
