Hey guys and gals,

I've just signed up and thought I should post my ride so I could maybe get some hints and feedback.

Nothing too special but I have added a few things:
- LPG conversion, lost a little power but saving me some dough
- Cruise control
- Parabolic headlights
- 14 inch alloys from a US Eclipse with painted brake calipers and drums, they're small rims but still add character
- 5 inch speakers in the rear, added a decent amount of base for only $80 (compared to factory speakers at least)
- Tinted windows
- All indicators, brake lights and also the boot garnish have been tinted

I'm looking to:
- Upgrade the grille
- Attach factory roof racks (in the fourth photo) which I may need some advice with
- Repair and respray grey sections on the car (bumpers and side skirts) to a charcoal colour to match indicators, brake lights, boot garnish, new grille and tinted windows.

Any other ideas for cheap?

Hey mate, welcome aboard. Car looks really nice. Just straight and clean. Bigger wheels will look awesome!!

Hey mate welcome to AMC good to see another 2nd genner still floating around.

Those roof racks need to be pop riveted into the roof im sure, so once they are in, they are not coming out!

For bumpers i would hunt around local wreckers to find some KS veradas in the same color as yours and get the bumpers off them. Its cheap color coding ;)

wollongongVerada:

Thanks. I agree with the bigger wheels but when I decided to get the new alloys I'd only had new tyres for about 6 months and wanna get all I can out of them until I get some 16's on the old girl.

TUFFTR:
Cheers, thought that might be the case with the pot rivots. Only problem is that the guy I bought them from was pretty dopey and lost the rubber feet for the rails. Apparently Mitsubishi don't have any more of them in stock. Know where I might get some or what else I could do?

Also with the bumpers I'm gonna be getting them tinted to how dark the boot garnish is so it doesn't really matter how faded a bumper from the wreckers would be. I'll keep my eyes open.

Go to the wreckers again....
I would ring around a few mitsu places, or at least find out who makes the roof racks.
maybe even give Pro-Rack or Thule a ring (2 companys who make aftermarket roof racks)

Welcome mate, car looks great, wheels are tincy wincy though for alloys lol

I like the tinting on the taillights, that makes it look much better, I was never a fan of the rear end because the lights and garnish was just too bright. Definitely change the grille, colour coded KS would be best, or at least colour code the one you have.

Is it a GLX or something? Why do you have drum brakes?

G'day, pictures are a bit too dark in general to tell, exactly how tinted are the rear lights? Look almost black here...

Lugo:

Sorry must have my terminology wrong. I definitely have brake calipers, but I thought the drums were the thick round section that the bolts are connected to and the inside of the hub sits on.
I agree with the small alloys comment. They're of an Eclipse which is a US Coupe. Not sure how they got over here but as I said earlier I wanted to get the most out of the tyres I'd only just bought. Bigger alloys on the way when these ones have done their job, though.

Gerard:

Is a neat car but I'm looking to freshen it up by respraying the grey sections once I've got all the new bits, eg. grille, KS front bumper.

dimi108:

Is that an overseas model 'cos that looks absolutely schmick. Would love to see it with tinted lights like mine's got and get my hands on that body kit. You haven't got any closer photos of the roof racks do ya?

Anyone with a wagon live in South West Victoria? I'm keen to get a look at some new mods and perhaps engine upgrades.

Rogue Streak:

I'll see if I can get some new pics up so you get a good look at them. The tail lights look almost like a dark cherry colour but both the brakes and indicators shine well through the paint.

Here's the pic of the tail lights. Bit hard to get a decent photo 'cos you can't use the flash.

Good to see someone else tinting stuff on there Magna... if u want a diff style bumper, ask Lucy (free plug :P, he selling his Diamante one) and new grille then look no further than either a KS Rada Grill or A Diamanete Chrome grill and light combo, ask lucy again he's selling one of these as well, tis upto you. There aint much u can do to a second gen asthetically, but there is enough to make it stand out.

Is Lucy Lucifer? If so, the freight might cost a bit from Queensland. Anyone in Victoria that might have Verada grille and/or front bumper?

what did you use to tint it?

My nightshades and gloss enamel is too dull for my liking.

Dunno, I bought them from a guy in Melbourne for about 20 bucks and I gave him my old ones. He's also the guy that did my front indicators. I think he just used a spray can and was really careful about how many layers and how thick they were. I reckon it comes up pretty good though, and the light still shines well through it.
