Hey everyone,

as some of you may know, i wrecked the gearbox in my TF Sports a few weeks ago. Turns out i wrecked the diff and the gearbox, so my easy fix of replacing the diff didnt quite work.

Im looking for some help on this transmission problems im having. I have purchased a auto transmission for my tf, but turns out it was actually from a 3.0 V6 TE, therefore it doesnt have some sort of clutch thing the TF models have. So that has been removed again, and was a slight waste of money haha.

I was told by somebody to check the codes on the transmissions to make sure they are the same. (i didnt, and got one with a different code:redface:) So what im asking here is... Could any 3.0 V6 TE owners please take a quick look at the code on there gear box and post it up, and also 3.0 V6 TF owners do the same.

The code is located just behind the transmission oil filter, its engraved into the box. Its about 12 characters long. I just need to know if TE's had the last letter 'A' and TF's had the last letter 'B'. Or if it was a tip tronic difference.

EDIT: just remembered that car is to low to get on ramps :(

TE transmissions are coded E5A and TF is E5B.

Why you require ramps to read a code that is directly below your airbox is beyond me......
