As per my previous threads wanting to know about TCU scanning etc, I have decided to have a mobile mechanic like lube mobile or similar come outo get the fault code for my transmission. I know the charges are fairly high for this so I am wanting to get everything ready so the guy just has to hook up his computer or whatever it is and get the fault code out for me.
Can someone tell me what parts of the cabin etc I have to remove to expose the necessary parts the mechanic will need to scan the control unit so that when he comes he can get straight into it and do what he has to do?

I got my computers read on tuesday, you wont need to remove anything, first he hooked a thing to my battery, then he hooked up his computer to the plug up under the dash. The guy will just plug it straight in up sort of behind the center console part. You wont have to take anything apart.
I got my computers read coz i thought some codes would come up and give me a reason why my car wouldnt work in 'D' but would in tip tronic. The computer came up with nothing. Turns out i had the wrong transmission in the car.

That's perfect then if I don't need to pull anything apart for him to get to. How much did it set you back to get the computers scanned?

It didnt cost me anything, i went to Fluid Drive. They had to read the codes to be able to tell me what was wrong with the car, so i guess it was a part of the quote. It only takes like a couple of minutes.

Yeah I took my other TF with the same problem to a place in Brisbane and they tried to tell me it would cost $2200 just to pull the transmission out and look for the problem. Idiots.
