dont rate their head units highly, but i like their subs, amps, speakers. But i gotta say, save your money and go for some Alpine products.
Thats what ive got and it goes off.
My friend has a 15" fusion sub, and im gonna test that out for him once he gets a box for it.

Don't touch their head units but their amps and subs are pretty mean...

But i agree, alpine speakers work nicely. Im a big fan of pioneer decks, won't touch anything else :D

grab a $500 alpine deck, it'll be better than the Fusion decks. Fusion amps and subs are great price for what you get. If you want a good system, go all powerplant. Personally i would look elsewhere for speakers, unless you are spending big and buying jonah lomu speakers :D
Go Alpine (NOT S type) or JL Audio for speakers, you can't go wrong :D

Whats your budget?

I have enough for a entire new system $2000, but i got last years pioneer 5550 (whatever the numbers are) mp3 one. and well the speakers i got arnt too great 6" JVC and Blaupunkt 6x9 3 way. so maybe subs and amp or entire new setup

I'm not a fan of Fusion. For the same amount or a little more you can get much better equipment in my opinion but then again, it's only my opinion. :)

for $2000 you can do pretty well for yourself, especially if you keep that deck. Its a good deck with an alright EQ.
-Put your JVC's in the parcel shelf (only use for rear fill)
-Buy a nice pair of splits (Alpine linear's [$400/$900], Cadence [$400], Eclipse [$400] or JL Audio [$400])
-A good 4 channel amp. Cadence has a good 75rmsx4 for about $550. Or you can buy my kenwood 50rmsx4 for $100 (output busted, i was quoted $150 for repairs). I'll even pay freight :D :D Check out Fusion powerplant amps aswell.
-That leaves you over a grand for subs and amp. You could get some good Fusion gear for that.

id say new speakers, sub and amp.
and yeh agree with idea of putting 6" in rear for fill but for front speakers i wouldnt touch the alpine DD-Linears. ive head the 6.5" components and for the money youd spend they arent really worth it. for the same price you could buy some really good 6.5" focal or hertz components. For subs and amps there are plenty on offer but just coz a company makes good amps does not mean that they also make good subs or speakers and vice versa. eash company basically specializes in making one product really good and just make their other products with no frills. so look around alot and have a check out of car audio australia if you want really good car audio. They can recomend whats the best you can get for the money you have.

their amps and subs are pretty damn good in my humble opinion....after enjoying a full powerplant system for the past 8 months, i can definitely recommend them for bass-heads...for a grand you can get a pair of powerplant 12s, and a decent amp to run them.

lol, i didnt even know Fusion made head units!

I reckon your Pioneer head unit will do justice, and currently I'd say its the last thing you'd want to change.

If you're a bass man, or you feel theres a lack of bass, add a sub with a decent amp, the ones that others have said are good ones. I havn't personally used Fusion though, and while a friend has 6" components and splits powered by a Fusion amp, it seems its got some decent SPL, but lacking in sound quality and depth (but depth can be altered by tuning and re-positioning), which is more likely the driver rather than the amp.

At the end of the day, its your choice for whatever you're reasons you want to use it for: SPL or quality?

Well there you have it. I would probably pick up a 4 channel amp from Cadence/Fusion ($500), some good splits Focal/Hertz/JL Audio ($400-$500), and a grand for a couple of Powerplant 12"s and an amp and chuck the JVCs in the rear while keepin the pioneer deck as is.
You will have a sweet sounding system with good dependable brands and some loud powerplants to boom yourself some street cred

Whatever you end up doing, try and find a dealer with all the individual brands that you want, because you'll find that if you haggle a bit, you will save more cash getting all the stuff from the one shop. Who knows? Maybe for the money you save you could get them to do an install or throw in a sub box for ya?

Best of Luck and lets us know what you end up doing!!! :D :D

Cheers,
Cam :D

i've recently just installed a set of hertz splits and i want a 2nd pair in the front doors. i will swear by them they are so accurate and clear that my reference series mbquartz now reside in the rear parcel shelf

yeah i'm definately going Focal or eclipse my next speakers.. my mate has a complete fusion setup in his car, while it is one of the loudest systems i've ever heard, its just not that good quality... seems just a little "burbled" rather than clean smooth notes

well eclipse make the best head units no questions asked but if you want the best speakers then definately go with the focals. focal and Boston make the best speakers the only problem being that the focals need a lot of power so make sure you get a decent amp to power them.

yeah i think i'll be getting the polykevlar 5" splits for the front, and the 5" polyglass 2 ways for the rear (all mounted in custom brackets) so its all nice and punchy...

got an alpine 4x75 atm, seems to be powering the pioneer splits and kenwood 6x9's fine, can get warm on hot days though... but only at max volyme... might be upgrading to eclipse or DLS amps soon (want shiny silver/brushed alloy ones, so it fits in with the theme of the boot better)

now if only i could win lotto so i dont have 2 wait!!

yea, alpine sells some. Very pricey though. Seen some (not alpines) from $1500-$3000+++. Look awesome though.

yeah i know DLS and focal make some too, it'd be hard to find a 3way split setup for less than $900

Try $3999 for their F1 series. The Focal 3 ways are your best bet for only $1500, they are almost as good as the Alpines and at less than 1/2 the price.

Got some 2 way 6.5inch Fusions and they are loud but it is true that they lack accuracy... but what do you expect for $150.

$31K??? what the hell do u have??

Dude he had a $50k + Corolla ( i think ) that got stolen so now he is building a "new" kick ass system. The list is long ........

Fhrx

True unfortunately. :(:(:(

The old system in our Corolla was worth $43 retail and like Mr.C said, it was stolen back in 2000.

The S15's current system is around 31k but it's not overly huge, it's just comprised of quality components. :)
