hello again!

not sure that this is the right spot for this, but it is a 3rd gen question

while out and about today with the bf for work, was driving out around Capalaba, and saw what looked like from the back, an AWD KL Verada, in white.

pulled up beside it to get a closer look at it, and it had the rear Diamante / verada bar seem in previous australian verada's (KJ etc) but this one had it as well - looked like it was factory - but then again, couldnt really tell, fitted up nice and snugly so who knows.

cruising up beside it, and the front indicator (in the guards) where almosted doubled - instead of just the single triangularish rectangle that was there, and it also had a revered/mirrored image of the same thing - looked to be a working indicator too, under the normal one.

my question (i guess)
is it possible that it left factory as i described it, or has someone done these mods to it?
(had an older person driving it if thats any help)

also - can someone please explain to me the differences between KL / KW?
are there any cosmetic differences externally / internally, or just a few things here and there?
sorry if this is a stupid question - but im currious now

cheers :)

it was a white car - if thats any help

Verada badge on left hand side of the boot, and AWD badge on the right hand side (same as my KL)

if thats any help :)

looked a little odd, because the front repeaters looked kind of.. tacked onto the front bumper, but in a tidy way at least

hmm ok
linkie to one that looks the same (http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/MITSUBISHI/VERADA/Queensland/csn1744157.aspx)

except, the one i saw DIDNT have the gtvi badges on it.
definatly verada, and AWD - no gtvi at all on there, unless it was debadged... but why would you leave the other badges on there?

so im guessing what i saw was a KW today.

i want that rear bumper on my KL!

cheers

No you don't.

whys that?
(apart from the obvious colour difference)

i think they look cool - but im thinking parking might become that little bit harder and more scrapeish.
and my parking is allready bad enough.... (havnt scraped a car ever, i just dont know the dimensions of the car! lol )

i just wanna be able to do what Mohit and others have done to the red reflectors and put parking lights there.

If you update the rear, you'll need to update the front, otherwise side on it doesn't look balanced. Combined length of KW Verada front and read bumper adds 11cm to the overall length of your car.

Fair enough....but then you could be different, and at a lesser cost incorporate them into the existing bumper.

true - but that means cutting my rear bar - and im not too sure about that, knowing me... i wont get them parrallel, and in different places! rofl

might look into it in the new year.

i didnt notice that the nose had the larger bar on it too - but i do like the extra size that goes with both the front and back bars - helps to give the car extra presence.

wow - i learnt something today, how to tell a KW from a KL.
i feel knowledged for the day now

cheers :)

wrong!!! if u search on ebay or for used diamantes from 03-04 youll see that the kl verada u.s spec actually has a rear bumper with the light as per mohits :) i think its some u.s regulation that they need to have them on there:nuts:
