I was playing around with the heat cover on my TP the other day thinking about painting it. I did, but while I was I noticed something scary....

This isn't the signs of a crack in my exhaust manifold is it? I scratched away the black stuff and it looked like a tiny hairline crack running through the middle where the black stuff was...
I'm hoping its just a stain but reading that the exhausts were poured really shoddy I'm thinking I might go and swap for extractors if this is a crack....

But I kept tidying the engine up and here is the before and after pics...

I need more degreaser and some paint but you can see where I'm going with it.
I'm going to paint more and prob end up painting it red (Not just the heat cover)

Does anyone think I'm going to have to turf my exhaust manifold?

I lose alot of oil when I put my foot down. Like, every time I give it a rev theres always a wet patch under the exhaust. It always smells really strongly too. What does this mean? Maybe too much oil? IDK.

What are some general things I can do to make my car perform and run a little bit better? I need to replace CV joints too but I cant afford to buy or pay my mechanic just yet... $500 phone bill.... No motor bike....

Does anyone know the price of the elante body kit for the TP? I'm in the Dandenong area. Is anyone selling one?

thanks guys.

If it's tiny crack, no problem, my one has had a small crack for about 4 years

its a saftey /rwc item

if it is too big a crack to take up with heat

you can have it welded if you ar not keeping the car

try to find one at a wrecker with a smaller crack

find cheap extractors quick

yeah the manifold is cracked dude. it will only get worse with time. You can have it welded but it will eventually fail.

if you are going to sell it just get it welded. it should still pass a roadworthy just make sure you put the heat shield back on after your finished.

Don't bother with extractors as it wont add any value to your car hence you won't get your money back.
