Not too hard, just be patient with any intereor parts or else they end up broken. Just give it a go, no harm in doing that just remember where everything went. Thats my 2c...

you can change the stalk
after the horn part is removed
just a nut to undo and a few screws
the lower plastic dash has to be removed to get to the 3 wiring loom plugs
special care is an air bag is fitted
the rear parkers and dash lights go through one fuse
in the engine bay
have an auto electrician check the relays , rewire the head lights
parkers and dash lights into seperate fuses in that fuse box

the owner before i brought my 2nd gen put in higher output headlight bulbs, and used them for ages, when i brought the car i had no trouble but i had them on for 8hours or so driving to rockhampton, and 10 minutes out of town at 9pm i lost the headlights.
i had parkers but not headlights or dash lighs, there is a solenoid in the engine bay fuse box, and it melted right through, luckily though a passer by stopped and let us tailgate him into town with all our hazards going.

The solonoid is actually a relay, for some unknown reason Mitsubishi changed to the metal case ones, these retain heat and die.
Get some relays from a first gen at a wrecker, pop these into all slots and if this is the issue your problem will be solved perm.
