Hi all, i recently bought an unregged TF magna, and once i get it on the road im planning on putting a decent priced audio upgrade for mi kenwood head deck. Items include:
USAUDIO - 500WATT 12" Sub Woofer And Enclosure $49
KENWOOD - 1000WATT D CLASS mono block amp $99
PIONEER - 6x9 300WATT 3 way speakers $249
USAUDIO - 600WATT 4 channel AMP $89 Pair
USAUDIO - AMP Wiring Kit $49
Total = $526
These prices and items are quoted from autobarn.
And later on down the track im lookin into spending under 500 on a exhaust and muffler upgrade :).
Then i'll save up for a respray for mi car as thefore i bought the car a lil scratched and a lil damaged but all thats fixed now but except for the scratches hehe.
It will take me a while for me to get use to my TF :P i use to own a TM magna which was a heap of ****.

your going to spend $49 on a sub yet $250 on redundant 6x9 speakers?
the a $99 amp to run the sub?
bad system'
list what you already have here and your budget and if you can install it yourself
then you will get responses from members in the know and will have a much much much much much better system for the same money and not a garbage bezerk one lol

ditch the 6x9 for 249, find something decent for 99 bucks. then spend the money get a decent pair of subs, try strathies or ebay and a better amp. my recomendations, get the pioneer 306c, pretty sure u can grab them for under 100 bucks, they are bout 200rms then grab a jaycar amp for about 200 bucks use that to power your rear 6x9 or the 6 inches and the sub.

Cant go wrong with the pioneer TSW 306C
Ditch the 6x9's for some Jaycar 6x9's or for some JBL GTO series 6x9's
Amps, jaycar again.
anything US AUDIO will suck

I've got JBL 6x9s running off the stock deck in my Verada and they are very good, esp for $89.

you must be nuts if your going to spend $250 on a set of 6x9s
for starters i wouldnt touch any of the US audio gear
you should go down to your local JB or strathfield to see what they have
seen as your getting a sub there is no need for 6x9's, so leave in your stock speakers as rear fill and spend that 250 on some splits

Will 6x9 speakers hook directly onto my parcel shelf on my TF?

I'm thinking of keeping the front speakers stock and installing aftermarket 6x9 on the rear :) sounds good? You can tell i'm only a noob in this sort of thing :P

sounds bad, very very bad...
use aftermarket splits up front, and leave stock speakers up the back.
As some people have put it, when you go to a concert, do you expect the band up front, or do you turn your back on them to hear it behind you...? Think about it
Give us a budget, and we'll suggest stuff

Speakers are directional. The best speakers should be the speakers aimed at your ears - the front ones. If anything, replace the front 6"s and keep the 6x9"s.
But to answer your question, yes, 6x9s are a direct fit in the back parcel shelf.

Just the answer i've been waiting for cheers Valdez :D....So there's no need to mod the shelf as most magnas u have to?

Well, my sound system modding should beging around april or may as therefore i gotta pay back my dad first hehe, First priority, My dad helped me got mi first gen on the road last year, i got rid of it last december after rego ran out and now i got mi 3rd gen on the road,....so once i've paid my $2,500 grand debt, then i can make my dreams come true one step at a time :D. And as for the budget question i'm thinking of spending at least, $1,600 on a sound system upgrade, I'm keeping my Kenwood head unit though hehe.

All 3rd gen Magnas came standard with 6x9s in the parcel shelf. So you'll only have to mod the parcel shelf if you want something other than the 6x9s :)
Fitting anything else is a waste of time if you ask me. You'll have your rear speakers turned right down anyway (as to not drown out your better sounding front speakers ;)), and you can find a 6x9s from just about every manufacturer at any price... so meh. The less work the better!

hmm $1600 budget? Not including install?
Splits:$400
Amp for splits:$300
Sub:$400
Amp for Sub:$400
Wiring: $100
Total - $1600....
Hmm a good budget there! Trust me when i say we can get some good equipment for u for that price!
Hows about opening another thread in the Car Audio section, just to get this in a better spot (Or can mods please move it there?), and ask for stereo suggestions with the above budget.
Cbf right now, but you'd be looking at brands like Morel/Focal/Eclipse/Hertz/Boston for the splits, DD/Soundstream etc for the sub, and Audison/Focal/Soundstream for the amps... tho there is more brands that i'm forgetting right now lol
But yeah, with that budget its gonna sound a hellova lot better, and possibly even be competition worthy

Just a question dude, for a guy like me who loves his TF is it worth the modifications one step at a time??
Oh yeah, you forgot to mention Rockford Fosgate :D

yes, it doesnt matter if u do it in 1 hit or do it over time... most people here have done them over time (until they hit big $$ mods like forced induction... then its all in 1 hit lol)
that said, do the stereo all in 1 hit, should be easier and cheaper that way
and i left out RF because when compared to the brands i posted, its not even a contender!
