ok i install a 4ch amp in my old mans TJ wagon a while ago
and every now and again when you go to turn it up it cuts out
but you can softly hear the music still playing and it'll just splatter in at the correct volume for not even a sec
now i've had a play around with it and it works fine with the passenger seat removed
but once the seat is back in the problems start
at first i thought it was the ground, replaced that and it worked fine for alittle while
next i thought it was a caught wire so i reran them and its still there
its really got me stumped
any ideas?
oh its a alpine 4ch amp and a eclipse deck

dont think its a gain problem cause the amp works fine when the seat is removed

check wiring, something will be shorting out somewhere if it's only happening with the seat down,

otherwise (not sure where its mounted) the seat may cause overheating problems?

Probably something simple.

How high are the gains out of curiosity?

yeah im going to have to re-check the wiring may be the ground again
its mounted under the passenger seat so yeah overheating did pop into mind
ummm the gains are at about 3/4 roughly
the amps a alpine MRP-F250
