Will the twin spot calipers and discs from a KS Verada, including the rear ventilated discs and calipers fit straight onto my TH Sports..?????

Why would you wanna do that???

I think the TH brakes would be better brakes than the TS, and going backwards is a bit dangerous, definitely wont go well legality wise. Dont think its a straight swap or im sure TR/TS owners would have upgraded to the TH and similar brakes. If they do then I might need to visit some wreckers!!

maggie3.5 - The front calipers MAY fit, the discs definetely will. The rears won't, as they have a different overall height, 65.5mm for KS ABS wagon and sedan, vs. 56.5mm for the TH. This is due to the TH having IRS, which uses a different rear hub to the KS, which uses a beam axle.

opilot87 - The TH front brakes are a single piston caliper, with a 65.2mm piston. The KS front brakes are twin piston, with a 42.9mm piston. Even though the disc size is the same on both cars, the twin piston caliper will be able to exert a much greater clamping force on the rotor, with an increased pad area, for improved stopping power. I think RPW offer a 2nd and 3rd Gen brake upgrade kit using these calipers.

ok,thanks for the replies,so the rear set up is out,the question still remains the same, will the front twin spot calipers that l saw on a 95 KS v6 Verada with ABS.fit straight onto my TH front end......???????? its good that the discs are the same,so l dont need to change them, are the hubs and hoses the same to facilitate a swap over....

380 Brake package is a direct bolt on to the front of your car, and can be had quite cheaply from a wrecker.

i suggest that if your leaning toward a set of twin pots for a th maybe invest in the twins off a 380 with the lines and 294mm 380 rotors to fit. i recently fitted this setup onto my th and it has made 200% difference to the braking on it.

In the twistly stuff i can brake a lot later getting no brake fade and feels stronger all round.

just my 2c :D

The bolt spacing is the big question. I've no idea what either car specs are.

The hoses are a different story; the ABS equipped 2nd Gens used a 'double flared' hard brakeline. It's a specific type of male ending to the metal brake line, which MUST be matched to the correct female fitting on the flex line to ensure a good seal and have any chance of working properly. AFAIK, the 3rd Gens use a 'mushroom flare', which, like the double flare, must be matched to the correct female fitting.

The above in a few words: you'll need custom made flex lines. Any reputable brake shop should be able to do this, but whether they will is a different story (insurance and indemnity concerns).

As magna00 said, why not look at a 380 conversion? Ours cost just shy of 4 figures, and it makes my eyes hurt during a very hard stop lol

Megatron did the full front kit with 2 dba 4000 rotors bendix ultimate pads 2 braided lines and the 2 twin piston calipers for 985 delievered and about 150-200 ish to get fitted professionally. that is all brand new gear as well

Pretty good value hey.

It'd be good if we could have a look at the rear brake conversion; 302mm x 18mm vented

Need to replace the whole hub, including the handbrake, but should be possible.

hmmmm that has me thinking whether a full hub and hand brake conversion would be possible..... off to google it methinks

95% sure that it is a bolt on, would be a lot more work than the front brakes for not a lot of gain besides looks but.

the only thing i can see holding it back would be the brake lines and the handbrake cable but both can be made to fit

Guess its a project for the weekend. Might get a set from a wreckers and see what the go is.

indeed could even work out cheaper then the awd rear caliper & rotor conversion ill look up some mitsi part no's and get the low down that way :D

Yeah, the AWD rear calipers would be a lot easier to do, but also cost a lot more. When I bought my front wreckers, it was either $700 for the AWD ones, or $300 for the 380... go figure.

In short NO.

Have measured these up previously, the caliper itself is identical to that of the Ralliart and the AWD etc however the bracket is different in so far as the bolt holes are different and the size given the later models have a larger rotor.

Interestingly enough, they all take the same pad.

You will need either ralliart, AWD or the 380 however again I am uncertain if the 380 calipers will fit the Magna stub, always will be good to find out I guess

well went back to "u pull it" down south in adelaide and took the caliper off and compared it to a TE next to it and nup not even close.....bolt holes dont line up,hoses wont fit...etc ...etc...so any 2nd gen who want a cheap set of twin spots u know where to go.....
